Walkerton, was chosen as United Nations Delegate to the United Nations Pilgrimage sponsored by the Isner Rebekahs and Oddfellows. Miss Ryan is a junior at John Glenn High School. The alternate will he Sheila Williams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Williams. Ihe announcement of the selection was made at the recent meeting of the I y ner Lodge. ington. D.C. Nilas Miller and Bill Norris reported that at the recent benefit chicken fry for John Church, approximately 2450 persons were served and 1367 chickens were used. The lodge will be furnishing refreshments for the upcoming Walk-A-Thon on Saturday. April 24. The Walk-A-Thon will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Walkerton Elementary School with registration and the walk to get underway at 9:00 a.m. from the school south on Highway 23 one mile, down Union and Willow Roads to Koontz Lake Lions Memorial Park and then south around Koontz Lake to the Tyner Road to the Tyner Odd Fellows Lodge. Leaving the Lodge walkers will turn north on Sycamore Road down West 3-B then to the Ply-mouth-LaPorte Trail into the John Glenn High School to complete the 15-mile course. Proceeds raised will support the American Lung Association of North Central Indiana. First-aid personnel will be along the route for anyone in need. Winners in the doubles ping pong tournament were Norman Klinedinst and Gary Shank. SPECIAL DISBURSEMENTS MADE TO SCHOOLS Indiana school corporations which participate in school and schtxvl breakfast programs have received special disbursements. Dr. Harold H. Negley. State Superintendent of Public Instruction, announced. These monies totalling nearly $853,390.00 will enable schools to purchase fvxxls on the local market during the remainder of the 1976 fiscal year. St. Joseph County received a total of $30,949.42 in disbursements. Distribution was: Polk-Lincoln-Johnson School. $1,006.54; Penn Harris Madison School. $4.'40.05; Mishawaka Schools.

Glenn Baseball Team Topples LaViUe 7-5 Glenn's baseball team found South Bend Adams’ hitting too much to handle Saturday as they were bombed 9-0 in thge first game of a double header and 15-0 in the second. Terry Kaser gave up seven earned runs in the first game and Len Jaske allowed six earned runs in the second as the Falcons made seventeen errors for the day, 13 in the second game. Jim Andert led the attack with three singles and five rbi's for Adams in the first game and collectled two more hits and two more rbi's in the second contest. Glenn Tops La Ville On Monday Glenn started Northern State Conference play as underdogs against LaVille. but topped the Lancers 7-5 as Barry Heim scattered five hits for his second victory. LaVille didn’t score until the fifth inning when Glenn began making errors, finishing with four in the final three innings. Offensively Glenn had 14 hits led by freshman third baseman Dale Merkle's three for four performance.
