Mr. and Mrs. Durwood Clark were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Hansen in Kankakee. HL. While there they attended the 38th annual Gladoli Festival in Momince, Illinois. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse A. Doan of Largo, Florida, and Mr. and Mrs. William Doan and family of North Liberty, visited Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Doan of Koontz Lake on Thursday evening. During the week following the William Doan children took turns staying with their grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Doan. Mr. Lawrence Banks of Walkerton and his sisters Mrs. Florence Jones and Mrs. Beatrice Sheneman both of North Liberty spent several days in Crandon. Ws. Where they visited relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bailey and grandchildren of Goshen called on Mrs. Esther Harman Monday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Poynter and Mrs. Steve Kurtz. Kokomo. Ind., were Saturday afternoon visitors of Cecil Worthington. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Sheneman attended a Sunday school party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Holderread. Home made ice cream and cake was served. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dietrich ot Carmel. Indiana, spent the week end visiting relatives and friends in North Liberty. The W.M.S. of First Brcthern Church will hold their monthly * meeting this Thursday Aug. 14th.

at the home of Mrs. John Oberly in Wyatt. Indiana. Mrs. Grace Gouker fell and broke her hip she is a patient in the LaPorte Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Folk and daughters of South Bend called on Mrs. Addie Hanson Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hanson of South Bend were Sunday evening callers. Rev. and Mrs. Stephen Cole are the proud parents of a daughter Jennifer Diane born on Saturday Aug 9th at Memorial Hospital. Congratulations to the Happy Parents. Mr. and Mrs. John Beron and daughters have returned to their home in Belton. South Carolina after visiting relatives and friends here. Mrs. Rusty Shade, Kurt and Neal of South Bend were Saturday dinner grests of their grandmother Mrs. Mable Golden. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Stuvcr of Niles. Michigan called on Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Sheneman Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Rumple of Marion. Indiana, were week end guests in the Pastor Steve Cole residence. They also visited their daughter Mrs. Cole and new granddaughter Jennifer Diane at Memorial Hospital South Bend. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Reamsnyder and Vera Shively made a trip to French Lick. Ind., Thursday and Friday to visit the former Gladys O'Dell. Her name now is Mrs. John Tuell. They had not seen

HAVEN HUBBARD HOME AUCTION A big event will take place at the Haven Hubbard Home in New Carlisle on Saturday, August 16 beginning at 9:30 a.m. with an auction sale on campus. Members of the home will be given an opportunity to sell their goods, some antiques available. The New Carlisle United Methodist Church will also have a food stand. The Haven Helpers will be available to take people on tour of the building. The Haven Hubbard Home is located on Chicago Trail, just east of New Carlisle.
