Mr. and Mrs. Ed Klopfenstein and Donna returned home on Saturday from a two week vacation to California. Washington and many places of interest visited along the way. On July 18 they flew to Los Angeles, where they spent a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Oren Shuler and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ryan, former Walkerton residents. Then Mr. and Mrs. Klopfenstein went to Kennewick. Washington, where they visited Mr. Miller Jones and his mother and Mr. and Mrs. James Schlosser and family. A trip to Seattle was enjoyed as there they attended a reunion of USS Enterprise members of World War II at the Washington Plaza Hotel with 300 in attendance. Ed tries to attend this reunion every two years. They also went to Mr. Rainierand to Blakely Island by ferry where they enjoyed a customary salmon bake as soon as the ferry reaches land. Other interesting things seen was a tour of the Boeing 747 plant, Weyerhauser Sawmill, Bumerton Navy Yard and they were lucky enough to get to go aboard the USS Constellation and the USS Missouri which is now a museum. They then returned to Los Angeles to pick up Donna and flew home. Mrs. Bess Ferverda of Fehaven, Florida, came a week ago to spend several weeks here with her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Chapman and other relatives and friends in and around the Walkerton and Koontz Lake area. Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Smith of Dunnellon. Florida, spent several days last week with her sister, Mr. and Mrs. George Downs at Koontz Lake. A surprise birthday party was given for Mrs. Wayne Hostetler on Sunday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Hostetler. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Herald Hostetler and family. Mr. and Mrs. Leigh Roy Hahn and family. Wayne Hostetler and daughters Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Skinner. Ice cream and cake was served. Mr. and Mrs. Perry Divine and Mrs. Ethel Palmiter of South Bend, were Friday evening visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Skinner. Mr. Fvclvn Marks and Mr. ano Mrs. Richard Robb of Niles, Michigan, were here on Sunday to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schmeltz and to attend the Schmeltz reunion which was held in the Odd Fellows building in Tyner. Mrs. Tom Ball and daughters, Terri, Laurie, and Mary of Logansport spent a couple of days here last week with Mrs. Ball's mother, Mrs. Charles Martin. Mr, and Mrs. Lamar Stahly of Jacksonville, Florida, are her visiting their mothers, Mrs. Elsie Johnson and Mrs. Marie Stahly and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Martin. Jr. and Scott of Chilliothe, Illinois, were here recently to visit his mother, Mrs. Charles Martin. Mr. Arthur Michalwski, three children. Tommy, Billy and Kathy of Baton Rouge, La., left on Wednesday after a three weeks stay at Koontz Lake with Mrs. William Michalwski. Mrs. Donald Lee Count of Nappanee and Mrs. Esther Nichols of North Liberty spent all day Tuesday with their half sister, Mrs. Alta Bowers. three daughters. Mr. and Mrs. Robinson were former Walkerton school teachers. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Miller of Fayette, Missouri, arc here visiting her mother. Mrs. Alice Barney. On Sunday they and Mr. and Mrs. Rhea Wright. Mr. and Mrs. Reuland McCabe and daughter, Beverly were guests of Mrs. Mary Holland in South Bend and this was a birthday celebration for Mrs. Barney. The Koontz Lake Conservation Club will hold their weekly carry-in dinner on Saturday evenng at 5:30 in the clubhouse with Mrs. Hilda Dipert and Mrs. Lorna Erzig as hostesses. A social hour will follow. Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Jacob were Saturday night guests of their son. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Jacob and family.

Fetterhoff is pastor of the Grace Brethren church at Marietta, he is vice-moderator of the National Fellowship of the Brethren Churches whose National Conference is being held at Winona Lake this year.
