Week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Komon were Mr. and Mrs. James McCurry, Jim and Jerry of Bradley, III.; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Miller, Angie, Kevin and Shelia of Berkey, Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Downard, Charlie, Linda. Denise, David, Rod and Eric of Remberville, Ohio; Mr. Ronald Komon of Metamora, Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Reams, Ricky and Philip of Momence, 111. and Mrs. Teresa Hejils, Rose and Robbie of Blissfield, Mich. They were joined on Sunday, July 20 by 85 other friends and relatives for a hog roast celebrating the birthdays of Janet and Philip. Sunday afternoon visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Burch were Mrs. Robert Urbin and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Ryan. Jan, Julie and Jim. Mrs. Bertha Urbin and Mrs. Robert Urbin were in Elkhart on Friday afternoon along with Mrs. John Guttman for a style show and luncheon at Robertson’s in the Concord Mall where Miss Bebe Guttman modeled a coat which she made for 4-H and won the championship in her division and will be taking this to the State Fair. Mrs. Mary Warnock of Fort Myers Beach, Florida, and her sister, Mrs. Florence Colip of Pontiac, Michigan, along with Mrs. Bill Krause of South Bend, aunt of Mrs. Gindelberger were week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Gindelberger and Mrs. Owen Johnson. A cook out and corn roast was enjoyed on Sunday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Knowlton. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Knowlton and family of North Liberty, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Lute and family, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Knowlton, Mr. and Mrs. Don Nowatzke, Mr. and Mrs. David Knowlton and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Dankert and family and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Snodgrass. Mr. and Mrs. Daryl Bowers are the parents of a baby daughter, Mandy Lynn born last week. Mrs. Esther Kaufman returned home Saturday after a stay in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Epperson in East Gary. Mrs. Epperson had been in the

hospital and Mrs. Kaufman was there to assist with the household duties. Mr. and Mrs. Larmon Kaser visited their son, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Kaser and daughter, Kimberly in Carmel, Indiana on Sunday. Larry is in the Air Force and will be spending two weeks of service in Spain. Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Place were in Lafayette a couple of days last week where Mr. Place attended a Farm Policy Study and they were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Noah Hadley. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Perkins of Bethesda, Ohio, were here for two weeks as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Don Wray. On Monday of this week, Mrs. Dennis Malloy, the former Virginia Wray, arrived for a ten day visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Don Wray. Mr. and Mrs. Art DeMyer and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Beagles attended the summer festival in Middlebury on Saturday. Mrs. Ruth Hughes of South Bend and Mrs. Bertha Urbin were Sunday visitors of Mrs. Anna Allen in Winamac. Rev. and Mrs. John Stump of Largo, Florida, are visiting in the Walkerton area and stopped to call on Mr. and Mrs. Orville Klinedinst on Saturday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Larry McDaniel and Michelle of South Bend were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Solmos. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Mattocks returned to Walkerton the last of the week on their return trip home from Tuscon, Arizona, where they visited Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hayes and daughter. Mrs. Hayes returned with them, this being the first time in five years to come home to visit with her sisters and brother. Her sisters are Mrs. Dorothy Morris, Mrs. Juanita Bouse, Mrs. Jan Norris, Mrs. Elaine Wolf, Mrs. Madlyn Aldridge, Mrs. Audrey Mattocks and Mr. Arbie Gardner of Hudson Lake, Ind. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Mattocks went on to their home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mrs. Ethel Greene of Lakeview, Arkansas, and Mrs. Frances Holzwarth of Chicago were here for
a weeks visit with Mr. and Mrs. Oren Duthie at Koontz Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Pat McNorton and two daughters of Elkgrove Village, Illinois, spent the week end here visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mac McNorton and Mr. and Mrs. Herald Hostetler. Mrs. Virginia Maule of Richmond, Indiana, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Trockmorton also of Richmond, were here for several days visiting with Mrs. Dorothy Huneruager and Mr. and Mrs. Archie Brehm at Koontz Lake. Miss Ethel Bierly spent the week end in Wabash, Indiana, where she and five other friends had a get-together. These were friendships that were made when Miss Bierly taught school there for nine years. On Sunday she attended the dedication of the Bessie Latchem School which is a part of the White’s Institute and also a homecoming of the Lincolnville Church. Rev. and Mrs. Clyde Wake came home on Tuesday night of last week from a two weeks stay in London where he attended at study seminar at Kings College of the University of London. Thursday evening dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Myron Mullet were Mr. and Mrs. John Rink and family of Los Alamos, New Mexico, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rink, Sr., of Lake Wawassee and Mrs. Glenn Jacob and children. Friday overnight dinner guests of the Mullets were Mr. and Mrs. William H. Williams of Maywood, Illinois. Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Mullet were roommates when they were in nurses training. Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Mahlon Jacob, Jennifer and Jeff were Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Pike of Hudson, Indiana; Mrs. Stella Pike, Hudson; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Spirito of St. John, Indiana; Mr. James Pike, of Wilmette and Oiase Lehman of Wilmette and Mr. and Mrs. John Camp of Elkhart. These guests were entertained at the Jacob home on Koontz Lake. Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Jacob and family and Mr. and Mrs. Myron Mullet spent the day at Brookfield Zoo in Chicago. Mrs. Lorna Erzig and Mrs. Lucille Dipert will be hosts for the Koontz Lake Conservation Cub carry in dinner on Saturday evening at 5:30 p.m. A social hour will follow. Mrs. M. J. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Baker, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Reed and Mrs. Ruth Bare were at Donnel Lake, Michigan on Monday to spend the day with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Goegley. AH the ladies being sisters and it was also in celebration of Mrs. Goegley’s birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Sisner and son, Alex of Chicago came to spend Sunday with Mrs. Charles Bandendistel and daughter, Margaret Finkle of Indianapolis, who is spending several weeks here with her mother. Edith Sicner accompanied the Sisners back to Chicago on her way to take the plane to her home in Denver, Colorado, after spending three weeks here with her mother, Mrs. Bandendistel and sister, Margaret. The following names made the dean’s list for the second semester at Indiana University, Bloomington, all undergraduates, Michael D. Huffstetter, 203 Michigan; Cynthia A. Huhnke, 706 Jackson; Patricia A. Jordan, route 2 and Robert L. Palmer, route 5. These students along with those earning the scholastic honor this summer and the first semester of 1975-76, will be honored on April 21, 1976, at the traditional Founder’s Day program on campus. Charles and Robert Gerber left on Sunday to spend two weeks in Indianapolis with their sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bryon Gerhart. Mrs. Charles Bandendistel and Mrs. Margaret Finkle spent Mon. at Fish Lake fishing with Mr. and Mrs. Dick Bandendistel in honor of Mrs. Finkles birthday. A cook out dinner was enjoyed on Sunday noon and evening at the country home of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Henry for a group of men and their guests that work .with Mr. Henry. AMOR-DARE REUNION The 16th annual Amor and Dare Reunion took place Sunday, July 20 at Place Park, Walkerton, at 12:30 p.m. Bill Sharp conducted the business meeting with election ot 1976 officers. Allen Chlupacek was elected president, Margie Bunton, secretary-treasurer, and Yolanda Spence, has recreations The oldest member present was Nellie Stickley, youngest, Denise Spence, and the farthest traveled was Mr. and Mrs. James Spence from Gary. There were 5h members present this year. Games were won by Trac. Knowlton, Mr. and Mrs. William Spence, David Spence, Sharon Barker, Pat Spence, Joe Knowlton and James Spence.
