Mis. Lucille Ward was in Fort Wayne for several days last week visiting Miss Mildred Bowman and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Downs and Jemse were in South Bend Monday for a cook out d.nntr with her mother Mrs. Lulu Nunemaker. Mrs. Lou FaU and daughter were also dinner guests. Mr. and Mrs. DeWayne Pavey returned home August 25 from a vacation camping trip which was spent at Mammouth Cave. Smokey Mountains State Park and sevcral other points of interest. On the way home they stopped in Lawrenceburg. Indiana, to visit her sister and family, Mr and Mrs. Fred Schmits. Mr. and Mrs. Gus Verkier have returned from a 15 day trip thru the Canadian Rockies where they s^ient several days in Banff and Lake Lou;. 5 * 1 and Jasper. In Jasper they visited the Columbia Ice Field in snow mobiles. They trav(led through Glacier National Park on the "Going to the Sun Road." one of the most beautiful mountain roads in the world; crossing over the contenintal divide. In all, they traveled over five thousand miles in Canada and the United States.

Mr. and Mrs. Everett Baker, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Kizer and Mrs. Ruth Bare, of North Lib<r. ty were in Gary on Tuesday to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Walter McCutcheon. , Ob Monday evening of this week, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Chap, man entertained for Clyde’s birth, day with the following present: STr. and Mrs. Lee Chapman, Mr. and Mrs. Doug Brovoid, Mr. and Mrs. Kenny Chapman, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Chapman and Linda, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Fenster, macher, Mrs. Bess Ferverda and Mrs Ray Chapman’s mother Mrs. Parsons, of Lebanon, Ohio. Jimmy Verkier has been visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Verkier and John for the past week. On Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Verkier entertained with a family dinner with guests Mr. and Mrs. Harry Verkier and Mr. and Mrs. Randy Verkier and Brette, of South Bend; Mr. and Mrs. Gus Verkier, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Verkier and Scott present. Jim. my left for Orlando. Florida, on Tuesday morning where he is employed at D.sney World.
Mrs. Dewey Lowry was in South I Bend on Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. June Kulcsar, I for a family get-together. I Mr. and Mrs. Lester Bierly and Janet and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hesterman, of Munster, spent a couple of weeks at St. Germain, Wisconsin. Sunday guets for dinner of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Burch were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Ryan and family and Mrs. Robert Urbin. Mrs. Garland Lawrence and her guest Mrs. George Isley, of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Mrs. Maurice J. Cook, of Fort Wayne, returned last week from a 10 day trip by bus and train to Gaspe Peninsula, Canada. After returning home Mrs. Isley and Mrs. Lawrence motored to Cynthiana, Indiana, near Evansville, to spend the remainder of the week. A picnic was enjoj cd Sunday at tne Pulaski County Game Preserve celebrating the birthday of Leigh Roy Hahn, Sr. The group included Mr. and Mrs. Leigh Roy Hahn, Sr., and family; Mr. and Mrs. Leigh Roy Hahn, Jr., and sons; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hahn, and son. of Inwood; Mrs, Mamie Hahn; Mrs. Fritz Skinner and Mr. and Mrs. Herald Hostetler and family. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Minter, Susie .and David, came home last week from a week vacation to Mansfield Texas, to visit with their son. Mr. and Mrs. B b Myers and daughter. Mr. and -»ns. On Munday evening a cook out party was planned at the home of Mr. and Mrs Phil Waldron Sr., in Walkerton, but due to the rainy evening a pot luck supper was held in honor cf the I irthdax - cf Mis. Waldmn, Mrs. Wilder Burn-.de and Mrs. Fritz Sk.n. ner. Those present were the Wild, tr Burnsides, the Fiitz Skinners. Mrs. Dorothy W;1 and Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Elder David Ludwig came heme on Saturday after two years of service in the U. S. Army. He was stationed at Ft. Hauchuca, Arizona, at the time of his discharge. On Monday Mr. and Mrs. Agnew Ludwig and two sons. Tom Kim. be. Mrs. Fayette Dunn spent from Thursday of last week till Mon. day in Lafajette with her son, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Dunn and family., Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Stull and family and Mr. and Mis. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Anderson and daughter Carol returned home last week end from a cou. pie weeks vacation in Wisconsin and Michigan. Mrs. Ritter will lie remembered by some as Edith Shedrick and was in school with the Sherlands. Mrs. Martha Young returned Sunday after spending a few days with her sister and family, Mrs. Bertha Jungerman and a few days were also spent with her son and family, Mr. and Mrs Mac Young, in Hobart, recently. Sunday guests of Mrs. Ida Mae Watkins were her sisters, Mrs. D rothy F.her, of San Francisco. California, and Mrs. Hazel Wisenbaugh.
