Mr. Lloyd Smith and Harry Doll are patients in the Osteopathic Hospital, South Bend. Mrs. Marie Ervin of New Castle will come on * Saturday to spend several days here with her mother, Mrs. Mary Gordon. Mrs. William ueroy and Mrs. Ruth Clark attended a Rebekah Lodge picnic at Long Lake in Michigan on Wednesday of last week. Mrs. DePoy is the district president and Mrs. Clark is a past president. Mr. and Mrs. Ora Smith, of Mesa. Arizona, are spending several weeks here with relatives and friends in the area. Mr. and Mrs. Smith were former Walker, ton residents. Mrs. Mamie Hahn, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Beaty. Mr. and Mis Roy Hostetter and guest, Mrs. Mildied Freeman; Mr. and MrJ Richard Roberts. Richard Cole. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Williams, Mrs. Regina Wells. They also went to Amana, lowa, to visit the Amana Colonies where they saw the Am.sh people and their work shops, their bakeries factories an i mam other shops in Amana and all through the colonies. On S '.turdav 'they attended a wedding of the daughter of Dr and Mi-. Carl Fioretti, in Chicago, and the reception was held in the Midlothian Country Club.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur L. John, son, formerly of Walkerton, now of Charlottesville, Virginia, celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary with a dinner in their home on August 17. The County Line Club and guests along with ten or more Walkerton people attended the Lawrence Welk musical show held on Monday evening at the Notre Dame Convocation Center. * Mi. and Mrs. Harold Hostetler Jr., and son Wayne. Miss Betty Jo Gardner, were in Evanston, Illinois on Sunday to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Patrick M< Norton and family. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Anderson and son David, of Monroe, Mich., were Thursday and Friday guests of Mrs. Esther Kaufman. On Thursday evening Mr. and Mrs. Amos Bierly were also dinner guests. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Wilder Burnside were in South Bend as guests of Mr. and Mrs. William Phoebus and several days ago they attended the Duncan reunion held at the Holiday Inn in South Bend for their dinner meeting and the afternoon was spent visiting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Duncan in South Bend. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Beaty entertained with a dinner Sunday in honor of Mrs. Beaty’s s.ster, Mrs. Lawrence Freeman, of Norman, Oklahoma Others present were Mr. and Mis. Roy Hostetter and Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Cole and sons Bob and Richie. Mrs. Freeman returned to her home on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Hunt and Mrs. Leftj’ Lute came home on Sunday from a week visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Je.ning and family in Fosston, Minn. When they started home on Frldsr it was 37 degrees and they put the heater on in the car but be. fore they arrived home on Sun. day they had no need for the i heater. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Roberts left for their home in California after a week’s visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Beaty and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Baker, of Bi emtn. and Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Baker were in Chicago on Friday evening to see the White Sox play I all. Mrs. Jack Jones and Betty, along with Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Stull, were in Fort Wayne over the week end visiting with relatives. There will be no carry-in din. ner of the Koontz Lake Conservation Club due to the holiday. Mr. and Mrs. John Green of Palos Hills, 111., spent several days last week with Mr. and Mrs. James Morrey, at Koontz Lake. Mrs. Richard Seiger and three children, of New Port Beach, California, were recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Newell, of Koontz Lake. Mrs. Seiger and ul.^dren accompanied ty Mrs. Newell, went to Scranton, Pa., for a I*o day visit with Mrs. Newell’s family. Ronald L. Amor, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Amor, route 3. spent three days of orientation in the campus of Tri-State College, Angola Indiana. He will be a freshman enrolled in accounting in September.
