The board hired four teachers including Malcolm Stauffer, guidance counselor at John Glenn; Mrs. Judy Ryan, fourth grade teacher at Tyner Elementary; Kerry Haenes. physical education teacher at Urey and Miss Ann Mier, French teacher at Urey. The board also bought a bus for $10,652 from the Lee Com. pany and another for $11,610 from the Imperial Company. The buses will be delivered in time to be used in the fall.

A master contract for salary and fringe benefits representing a seven per cent increase from last school year was ratified by the PLJ Educational Association and the board. Mrs. Jasper Elkin was hired as a school bus driver to replace William Bacewic. The board also approved a request for an additional appropriation of $17,000 for work on the John Glenn High School.
