Thomas, 55, route 1, Grovertown, died at 8:20 p.m. July 11 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend following a one year illness. Mr. Thomas was a farm, er and also employed by the In. diana State Highway Commission. He was a lifelong resident of the Starke County area. Mr. Thomas was born in Knox on December 18, 1918. On June 10. 1939 in Valparaiso, he married the former Ruth Kakuska, who .survives. Also surviving are one son, Donald G., at home; two

Mr. Thomas was a past master of Lodge 639, F & AM in Knox, a member of the Scottish Rite in S- a'.h Bend, the (Irak Shrine of Hammond. OES chapter 447, of Knox, and area field director of the National Camping and Hiking Association and a member of the Koontz Lake Conservation Clulb. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Rannells Funeral Home in Hamlet, with the Rev. Kenneth Overmyer, pastor of the Warsaw Walnut Creek United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in Fletcher Cemetery in Hamlet. Mrs. Clara H. Oasey Mrs. Clara H Casey, 61, of Big Long Lake. Indiana, died on July 10 at 5:40 a m. of cancer in the National Nursing Home, Ken-
dallville. where she had been a res.dent since January 7. She had been ill since last October. Her husband, William H. Casey, recently retired from the B & O Railroad and they resided at Big Long Lake. Mrs. Casey was born March 16, 1913, near Union Mills in LaPerte County, a daughter of the late Erast and Bertha (Dallmann) Brose. She was married to William Casey on November 19, 1932, at Hanna. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Damon, of Garrett; and David, of Buchanan, Mich.; two grandchildren; three brothers and three sisters.
