Mrs. Orville KLnedinst spent FYiday in Wakarusa visiting Mrs. C. H. Maurer Mr. and Mrs. Charles Finch, of Hanna, were here on Sunday aft. emoon to attend the birthday party for Mrs. Fayette Dunn. John Verkier returned on Sat. lirday after spending two weeks with his brother. Jimmy Verkier, in Orlando, Florida. A birthday party was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Skinner Sunday honoring the following guests who had birthdays in the month of July, namely, Mr. Herald Hostetler HI. Charles Hostetler, Mrs. Bob Barden, Mr. Leigh Roy Hahn Jr., Mrs. Ed Hahn, Mrs. Wayne Rouch, Mr. Ted Hostetler. Mrs. John Shaw and Mrs. Wyman Hochstetler. There were 48 present to enjoy a pot luck dinner and birthday^ cake. Mr. and Mrs. Gaither Dunn, of Martinsburg. West Virginia; Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer E. Dunn, of Smithsburg, Md.; and Mrs. Al. bert Jones of Rockfield, Md., were Sunday and Monday guests of Mrs. Fayette Dunn. These guests came for the surprise birth, day party on Mrs. Dunn Sunday with over 100 attending the party at the First Presbyterian Church with guests coming from Riverdale and Hinsdale, in Illinois; Plymouth. Hanna, South Bend, Bremen, North Liberty, LaPaz and Walkerton. Mrs. Dunn said it was a complete surprise and a very happy occasion for her.

Jasper Dill underwent surgery on Monday in the St. Joseph Hospital, South Bend, and is making satisfactory recovery. George and Ruth Ruesch, of South Fort Mitchell, Kentucky, will be here to spend a few days this week with her mother, Mi's. Charles Bandendistle. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Gerber and family had as their Saturday evening dinner guests Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Gearhard and Byron, of Lakeville, and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hoover, of South Bend. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Hostetler and family of Mt. Arlington, New Jersey, came last week to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Anderson Jr. and family. Mr. Hostetler stayed a few days and then left for their new home at Albuquerque, New Mexico, and the family remained for the week before leaving for their new home. A surprise congratulations party was held for Mrs. Leroy Adams at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John K. Johnson recently. The party was hosted by her daughters and sons-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Jacobson and Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Matz. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Matz and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Perkins. Some lovely gifts were received and games were played. Gamq winners were Wayne Matz, Howard Perkins and Dick Adams. Mrs. Adams graduated from the House of James in South Bend and is looking forward to working in Walkerton.

Mrs. Bess Ferverda and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Keeling were in Kokomo on Sunday to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Mike Jackson. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Sharpy of Rossville, Indiana, spent the week end here with her mother, Mrs. Charles Bandendistle. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Wolfe and son Bill, were here Sunday to spend the day with Mrs. Zoa Walz and in the afternoon they were at the birthday party given for Mrs. Fayette Dunn. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Huhnke and Mrs. Henry Kaiser of Three i Oaks, returned home last week from a vacation in El Paso, Illinois, where they visited the ladies’ sisters and brothers and their families. Mrs. Kaiser .stayed in : Walkerton visiting relatives for several daxs before returning home to Michigan. Mr. and Mrs. Alex Kuklinski spent the week end in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with their daugh. - ter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Ferris, and visited another daughter, Mrs. Loretta Versluis, who has been seriously ill in the ■ Grand Rapids Hospital. Steve Ludwig came home from Fort Lee, Virginia, with an honorable discharge after having • served thjee years in the U. S. 1 Army.
