Sunday evening Mrs. Robert Ur(tin, Mi. and Mrs. Jack Ryan. Julie and Jim, were callers in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Burch. The monthly business meeting for the Koontz Lake Conservation Club will be this Friday evening at 7:30 at the club house. On Saturday evening at 6:00 pin. the club members will enjoy another carry in dinner at the club house with Mrs. Dick and Mrs. Don Dipert serving a« hostesses.
Harry Pehrson has returned home from the Veterans Hospi. tai. Fort Wayne, on Sunday. Sunday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Erville Kaercher were Mrs. Clara Bessler, of Powell. Wyoming; Mr. and Mrs. John Halligan. Brookfield, Illinois; Mrs. Joseph Kennedy and Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Weiler. Wednesday evening through Fnlay evening Miss Rene Williams and Mrs. Robert Urbin were in Indianapolis. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Burch returned home on Wednesday evening of last week from a two week tour of Alaska. They also visited with Mr. and Mrs. John Wathen and Todd in Fairbanks. Members of the Birthday Club were surprised for a ‘‘come as you are" brunch at %e home of Mrs. Francis Gindelberger, Koontz Lake, on Friday morning of last week. Those attending were Mrs. Bill Ross, Mesa. Arizona; Mrs. Ted Lipke, Mrs. Tom Gedgoud, Mrs. Paul Brown and Beverly, of Chicago; Mrs. Hal Muncie, Karla and Chris, Mrs. Ernest Brovoid. Mrs. Bruce Henry, Jeff and Todd, Mrs. Vi Bregi, Mrs. Evelyn Schmidt, Mrs. Emmett Clarke and Mrs. Ray Holmquist. Kim and Mark. Jerry Putman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Putman, 1301 Ohio St., has been appointed principal at Farmerville Elementary School, near Mt. Vernon. Indiana. He has served at the Junior High School in Mt. Vernon since 1967 as a science tocher. Jerry, his wife Janet, and two children. Chris and Tim, were recent visitors with his family in Walker, ton. Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. DeWayne Pavey were her mother, Mrs. Alice Sokola. of North Liberty; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Shmits and family, of Lawrenceburg, Indiana; and Mrs, Ellen Morris, of Fort Wayne Dinner was served by Mrs. Pavey at noon and in the afternoon home made ice cream and cake w’as enjoyed with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Candler and Bret, of Zionsville, Indiana as additional guests. Mr. and Mrs Walter Jackson and Marcia, of Fort Myers, Flor, ida, are spending some time here visiting Mr. and Mrs. Kenny Chapman and other relatives, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Klopfenstein and Donna, and Mr. George Matz, were in Topeka, Kansas last week to visit Mr. Matz's grandson, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Simmons. Mr. and Mrs. William Michal, ski were in Oak Lawn, Illinois. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Land, Tony and Toby, of Indianapolis, were Sunday guests with Mrs. Land's sister. Mrs. George Hillis at Koontz Lake. Mi - , and Mu. Amos Bierly were guests of Miss Ethel Bierly last Friday for a picnic dinner served in the yard on a nice sunny day. Mr. and Mrs Melvin Jones and Mt and Mrs. Dennis Baker and family, of Bremen, and Mr. ami Mrs. Douglas Baker and family were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Baker for Father's Day. Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Fraizer and sons of Walkerton and Mrs. Delores Watson, of Valparaiso, were Sunday guests of Mr. a*i Mrs. William DePoy at Koontz Lake. Mr. Don Ries and two daughtens came from Detroit to spend the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Stahly and Mrs. Ries who has been here for several weeks, returned home with them on Sunday. To make Father’s Day a happy occasion a surprise was given Mr. and Mrs. Harold Rensberger with their children coming in with (baskets of food. The guests were Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Rensberger and family of Roann and David Rensberger of South Bend and Miss Sue Bammerlin of Roann. In the evening Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bullinger came in with cookies ami coffee. The Rensbergers enjoyed the guests and the day. The last meeting of the year of the LCW evening group of the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, of Donaldson, was held on June 13 with a covered dish dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Hull, of Plymouth. Albert and Dorothea Brenner showed their slides and told of their experiences on their recent visit to the Peoples Republic of China.

Mrs. Charles Burke and two sons, of Pleasant Hill, California, came last week to spend the rest of June with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Cecrle. Mrs. Burke is the former Esther Cec. rle. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur DeMyer and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Love. M.shawaka. spent three days of last week at Turkey Run, The Shades and a couple of other stops for a change of scenery and di. version. Mr. and Mrs. Will.am Dickson were in Niles, Illinois, last Wed. nesday night to attend the graduation of their gramlson and granddaughter, Dotg and Debbte Dickson, from North Main Twp. High School and a reception party following. Mrs. Mary Ann Carmichael, o€ Kodak, Tennessee, spent last week here visiting her sister and broth-er-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Newland. On Friday Mrs Bonnie Smith and Lennie took her home and visited other relatives in South Carolina. Mrs. D'Maris Metzger, of Columbia City, and Mrs. Ruth Hughes, of South Bend, spent che week end in Walkerton as guests of Mrs. Bertha Urbin. On Friday they visited a cousin in Haven Hubbard Home and on Saturday they were in Winamac and Monticello visiting relatives. In Monticello there is still plenty of destruction to see caused from the tornado in the spring.
