1 Mr. and Mrs. Galen Hoover, of Kewanna, were Sunday afternoon visitors of Mis. Mary Gordon. Mrs. Alice Ann Griffith, daugh. ter of Rev. and Mrs. John Goodpasture. rece.ved her masters degi ee from Ball State last Thursday. Mrs. Griffith’s degree is in special education and she will be teaching in Anderson this fail. Mrs. Griffith and her two children. Beth .Ann and Douglas, will Tee spending the summei here with her parents at Kocntz Lake. A double surprise was enjoyed by Minnie Taylor celebrating her 86th birthdav on May 27. Sunday after the evening service at the Wesleyan Church. Rev. Gilkerson invited the congregation to the basement and there was a lovely cake, coffee and cold drink being served with a pleasant time had by all. Monday afternoon some neighbors. Mrs. Minnie Mikesell, Mrs. Lucille Ward. Mrs. Ann Resler. Mrs. Marie Stahly and Mrs. Violet Drake, a niece, slipped in and a little later ’ other relatives, Mr. and Mrs. Leon McKesson. Mr. and Mrs. William Zlatos and Mr. and Mrs. Lester O Hara stopped to wish her many more happy birthdays.

Mrs. Marie Krout. of Calumet C.ty, has been in Walkerton the past two weeks as & guest of Mis. Grace Aimooq, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Sullivan, of Indianapolis, visited briefly with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Kennedy and attended the Alumni Banquet on Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Hal Grat, Peoria, 111., were Friday and Saturday guests of Mr. and Mrs. James Capek. Mrs. Grat was formerly Pat Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Smith, former Walkerton residents. Mr. and Mrs. Grat came to attend the aiumni banquet on Friday evening and she and the Capeks were members of the 25 year honor class. John Cecrle, of Anderson, came home Saturday evening to spend the week end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Cbcrle. The Walkerton High School Alumni Banquet was held on Fri. day evening at St. Patricks School Hall with 148 present. The din. ner was served by the Walkerton Order of Eastern Star who also prepared the delicious meal. Following the dinner the honor classes were introduced and this was followed by the election of officers and dancing.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kline, of Haines City. Florida, spent a week here with h.s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Kline and they also attended the Walkerton High School Alumni Banquet on Friday evening as several or Jack's classmates gathered to celebrate their odth anniversary. Celeste, returned to their home in Denver, Colordao, after .spending two weeks here with her mother, Mrs. Charles Bandendis. tel and sister, Margaret; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Duffey, Mishawaka; Mr. and Mis. Dick Bandendistel, LaPorte; and her son Richard and wife, of Chicago. A family din. ner was held on Sunday with Mrs. Charles Bandendistel. Mr. and Mrs. Alex Kuklinski, Kcontz Lake, returned home last week after a three week visit with Mrs. William Taylor and two children Mike and Marlo, on a ranch 45 miles from Phoenix, Arizona. While there Marlo cel. ebrated her third birthday. They reported the temperatures around 90 degrees and the cactus were in full bloom. During the three weeks they visited several places of interest in the state. Thursday night of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Baker en. tertained for dinner Mr. and Mrs. Keith Baker, Ingleside, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Kennedy, and Mrs. Marvin Baker and daughter. Saturday evening Mr. and Mis. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Wolfe were guests of Mrs. Zoa Walz and also attended the Alumni Banquet on Friday as Heleh was a memter of the 25 year honor class. Joseph Uhlir, of Oak Park, 111., and Sally Uhlir, of Chicago, spent Thursday, which was the Illinois Memorial Holiday, with Mr. and Mrs. Roy Newell, at Koontz Lake. Mrs. Ruth Rearick, South Bend, was a guest of Mrs. Frank Hahn on Friday and Saturday of last week. They both attended the Alumni Banquet on Friday evening. On Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Beaty were dinner guests. Mrs. Ellen E&pde and her brother. Charles Wilkins, of Lake Worth,- Florida, came home last week and Mrs. Brede went on to Wisconsin for several days and then returned home on Wednesday for the remainder of the sum. mer. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Henry were in Lake Village Saturday to attend the wedding of Shirley Merchant and Raymond Cox, both ol Lake Village. Sunday they were anS ence Farnham who were former Koontz Lake residents. Rev. and Mrs. Ralph Jones recently moved from Fort Wayne to Koontz Lake to make their home. Rev. Jones ret.red from the ministry this year and had been serving the congregat.on cf the South Wayne United Methodist Church in Fort Wayne the past four years.
