Miss Theda Bell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold L. Bell Sr., Walkertcn, became the bride of Fred Casteel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hany Casteel, Walkerton, on Sat. urday, May 25, during a doublering ceremony m tbe First Brethren Church, Teegarden. with Rev. James Gilmer, officiating. Maid of honor was Jerri Carlson, Plymouth; bridesmaids were Jeannie Gilmer, Walkerton; Karen Martin, Plymouth; and Sandy Pontius, Walkerton. Best man was Kevin Briggs, Elkhart; and groomsmen were Jack Casteel, South Bend; Richard Reese, Plymouth; and John Verkier, Walkerton. Ushers were Ed Beasley, Walkerton, and Jeff Hyndman, Culver. The attendants were attired in blue long sleeved gowns with high necks tnmr.ied in white and they wore blue picture hats. Both the bride and groom are graduates of John Glenn High School and the groom is employed at Haas Concrete, South B-md. The couple enjoyed a week’s honeymoon in Florida. Celebrate 50th Anniversary The 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. George Pfeiffer, of Koontz Lake, was celebrated on Sunday, June 2, at the Koontz Lake Conservation Club House with dinner served from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. for 269 guests. Tables were decorated w’th goil floral arrangements and the guest tables had beautiful bouquets of gold mums and iris and on the gift table plants of gold mums and a basket of 18 gold roses decorated where beautiful gifts were plaoed. Rev. and Mrs. Thomas Lineweaver, of Crete, Illinois, of the Congregational Church, were present and he was the minister who performed the wedding ceremony 50 years ago on June 4, 1924, in the Bird Memorial Congregational Church, and who also presided Sunday when the wedding vows were renewed by the Pfeiffers who entered the club house from the ea_st entrance as "Here Com^s The Bride" was played by Tom

Comments on the recent Achievement Night held at O-D High School proved that an enjoyable evening was had by all. The program on flowers with Joe Felke Jr., of Plymouth, was a tremendous hit. Fi Bowing the brief business meeting conducted by president Mrs. Joe Scanlon, a lesson on anxieties and tensions was given by Mrs. James Cornell. The seivices of the Knox Mental Health Foundation was explained. A brief summary of the all day session on canning and freezing held at Tracy Methodist Church was given by Mrs. James Clark and Mrs. Ed Cook. Installation of officers will be held at the June meeting in the home of Mrs. Frederick Awald and Mrs. Lavern Yuung will be installing officer. Lovely refreshments were enjoyed by the group.
