Mrs. Gaynelle Denaut is a patient in the LaPorte Hospital. Mrs. Minta Frazier and her daughters. Mrs. John Clark, Mrs. Newton Mann and Mrs. Sam DeForrest left last Thursday for Los Angeles, California, where they were called because of the very serious illness of Mrs. Fraz. ier's daughter. Open house was held on Saturday or Sunday by the parents of the named graduates of John Glenn High School with many attending. Those holding open house and reported were Denise Baker, Mary Cripe, Marsha Buswell, Cindy Campbell, Jim Mechling, Brenda Anspaugh, Cathy Bottorff, Heidi Fenstermacher, Linda Flaughed, Gregg Gillies, Gene Knowlton, Sandra Pontius, Doris Pickavet, Wanda Wringer, Sandra Bauss. Julie Tiede, Keith Anderson, Rosalie Gerber, Karla Gardner, Betty Gardner, Mia Hawk and Randy Zartman.

Mrs. George Hillis, Koontz Lake, returned home on Tuesday of last week after a vacation in Lexington, Kentucky, and in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, in the Great Smoky Mountains. Mrs. Hillis met Mrs. Louis Marcent of Cleveland, Ohio, and Mrs. Martin Johns of Toledo, Ohio, while there and the ladies enjoyed tours to the many points of interest in the Smokies. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. -Jack Tiede and family for Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Tiede and family, of Wabash; Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Ingram, South Bend; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ingram, Elkhart; and Mr. and Mrs. James King, of LaPorte. Other callers came in the afternoon for Julie's open house following graduation. There will be no carry in dm. ner for the Koontz Lake Conservation Club members this Saturday evening due to the holiday week end.

Mrs. Dale Ullery was a week end guest of her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John Kiracofe and daughter, in Fort Wayne. Rev. and Mrs. Clyde Wake and Mis. Robert Ftnstermacher, of the Walkerton United Methodist Church will be attending the an. nual General Conference at La. fayette from Thursday through Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Haney spent a two week vacation in Pinellas Paik, Florida, on business and vis. iting with her sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Kinney and Mark. They all had a wonderful time sight seeing and also enjoyed Disney World. Me and Mrs. Leonard Beaty attended a dinner meeting and 25th anniversary celebration of the 49’ers Club of the OES held in Bristol on Sunday with 25 present. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Dunn, Robbie and Linda, of Silver Springs, Maryland, and Pete Dunn, of Goshen, were Friday evening guests of Mrs. Fayette Dunn. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Erdelyi returned home Sunday evening from a week vacation in Hawaii. The trip was won by Mr. Erdelyi thru a sales promotion of Radio Distributing Co., South Bend. They enjoyed the trip very much. Sunday guests of Dr. and Mrs. Robert Fenstermacher and fam. ily were her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Owen, Indianapolis; his parents. Mr. and Mrs. George Fenstermacher, of Upland, and Miss Iris Abbey, of Upland. An open house was held on Sun. day in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Pontius in honor of their daughter, Sandy’s graduation. She received many lovely gifts with guests coming from South Bend, Mishawaka, Fort Wayne. Kokomo, Grovertown, Lakeville, Tyner, North Liberty, Plymouth and Walkerton. Week end guests of Mrs. John Northam were Mr. and Mrs. Pet. er Roberts, of Bellewood, 111. On Sunday evening other guests for dinner were Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hancock and daughter, of Ham. let; Mrs. Richard Hancock and Jerry Hancock, along with Mr. and Mrs. Howard Helton and daughter, of Hamlet, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Northam and family, of Walkerton. Miss Deanne Mechling. of Wash, ington, D.C., came to spend last week with her mother and family, Mrs. Delight Mechling. Saturday the family went to Bloomington to attend the wedding of Robert Mechling and Marcia Scherer and this week Mr. and Mrs. Scherer and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Mechling and Miss Margaret Mechling, all of Bloomington, and Miss Deanne Mechling were all here for the commencement and open house for James Mechling, a member of the John Glenn High School grad, tinting class. । Mrs. Maurice Lambert, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Tuttle and Mrs. Lynn Malstaff were in Muncie on Friday, May 17. to attend the 67th commencement of Ball State Uni. versiy as Miss Judy Lambert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mau. rice Lambert.
