His term will be until December of 1975 filling the post of Ray Nusbaum. The board authorized steeet. sewei commissioner Rush 11 Ruby, to engage a tree.cutting firm to remove three trees too large for cutting with the town equipment. He was also authorized to pro. vide a man and truck to assist in the Chamber of Commerce clean-up project in the business area of the town on May 11. The board gave Mr. Ru* y approval to hire several additional employees during the summer months to assist in various depart mi nt duties. Marv.n Williams, utility super, intendent, was authorized to in. terview prospective applicants for future placement. Further re. view was made on engineering data needed to be compiled so ap. plicat.ons can be submitted to the arterial road and street board of Indiana requesting distribution for state and hxal road and street accounting funds. The board approved "Lake Street” as th< name for the street abutting the Glenn- L addition and extending into state road 23 at the curve toward Koontz Lake. Also included in the resolution were provisions for conforming to the new sjx-cd limit requirement on that street. The board ap. proved setting new sp-ed limits fi r state road 23 north and south. Tire state will post new signs on that road. SENIOR riCTI RES The senior pictures of the John Glenn 1974 graduating class are included as a supplement to this issue of The Independent-News. Also included is congratulatory ads from many merchants, both for the John Glenn and North Liberty seniors. Announce Alumni Banquet Plans For Walkerton The Walkerton High School Alumni Banquet will be held, n Friday, May 31, at the Swan Lake Golf Academy Club House with the classes of 1924 and 1949 to be honored.
