KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION SET AT 0-D Children in the Oregon-Davis school area who will enter kindergarten this fall should be reg. istered by their parents on April 24, 1974. Also, register those children who are eligible for first grade but have not attended kin. dergarten during the 1973-74 school year. To be eligible for kindergarten, the child must be five years old before September 1. 1974, and six years of age before Septemher 1 to enter first grade. A legal birth certificate is required for registration. The birth cert.ficate may be obtained by contacting the Health Department in the county in which the child was born. Hospital copies will not be accepted. Indiana law requires each student to have a Mantoux tubercrdosis sk.n test prior to attending school for the first time. Health forms will be h aided out at the meeting for each parent to have completed by the family doctor and dentist. The tuberculin test and health forms are to lx* completed before the child may attend school. The Oregon Elementary Pre. School group will meet it 9:00 am. Wednesday, April 24 in the Oregon Elementary Building. The Davis Elementary ITe. School Group will meet at 1:00 pin. Wednesday, April 24 in the Davis Elementary Budding. The regular morning and afternoon k.ndergarten classes will not meet that day. ÜBRXRY WEEK APRIL 21-27 Library Week is April 21-27 and this will be celebrated at the Walkerton Public Library. The librarian, Mrs. Helen J. Smith, wishes that more people would use their home town library for fict.on and reference books for educational and fun reading. FRESHMAN ORIENTATION AT JOHN GLENN An orientation program for the 1974-75 Jonn Glenn High School freshmen and their parents will be held in the school auditorium on Monday evening, April 29. at 7:30 p.m. Teachers from the various departments will explain the cur. riculum.
