JGHS Band And Chorus Plans Christinas Concert The John Glenn High School band and chorus will present a Christmas concert on Tuesday, December 11 at 8:00 pm. in the and. itorium. A Christmas theme highlights the concert under the direction of Mrs Sheryl Kinger of the chorus with the opening numher "Its Christmas" and “Carol of the Bel Ls.” "Home for Christmas," a medley including "Let It Snow.” "I’ll Be Home For Christmas" and "Home for the Holi. days" will be presented in scenic form. ALso included will be "Come Christmas Morning,’* "Tiny Little Baby Boy” and "Softly the Stars Are Shining.’’ The chorus will ck.se with the well known chorus from Handel’s Messiah, "The Halk lujah (Thorns ” Accompanists will N* Jill Northam. Wanda Wringer and Mrs. Gene Sumers. As the curtain reopens the John Glenn symphonic band will salute th'' holiday season with leßoy Anderson's ever popuar "Sleigh Ride." Camille Saint-Saen’s "Al- !• luia." "March of the Toys” from Babes in Toyland and "Winter Wonderland.” The officers of the PLJ Band Boosters led by Mrs. Edgar Cole, president, will present the senior band awards. As their finale, the symphonic wind ensemble returns to an arrangement of traditional Christmas Carols entitled, "A Christmas Festival.” SR. FELLOWSHIP GROFF TO MEET The Senior Fellowship Group will meet on Wednesday, December 12 at 6:30 pm in the Walk, erton Community Building for their regular monthly carry-in dinncr.

Offh ials will a’tempt to get the message on the radio by 7.00 am on days when the schools are to be closed. Scbxil officials point out that at other times fog might make driving hazardous that the bus drivers have been instructed to use their judgem nt in their own areas regarding the time for starting on their routes on foggy’ days. Therefore, when fog is present, one bus might be late while in. other bu< in another area might run at the regular time. School will not be closed because of fog, however. Salvation Army Drive Begins in Walkerton The Salvation Army Kettle Drive in Walkerton will begin this Saturday, December \ with the kettes manned by the Chamh r cf Commerce on the corners of Roosevelt and Illinois Streets and Illinois and Van Buren St reets. The following Saturdays the kettles will be manned by th- Walkerton Lions Club and the 15 and Walkerton American Legion Post D 9 on the 22. The local committee, which has this once a year drive as thenonly fund raising, is asking the public for help in finding those who may need some assistance at this- holiday tune. Simply drop a line to the Salvation Army Committee. Walkerton, explain, the situation and the members of the family (how many and the agesi and the committee will take it from there. Your help may bring to light some family unknown by the committee members. Last year, a balance of $459 17 started the Christmas season. A total of 602.16 was collected in the kettles and personal deposit, and disbursements included a total of $327.JH) in Christmas letters for merchandise; $105.00 in checks to individuals and $27 26 for transit aid during the year. This left a balance of $6Ol 17 to date, due to a lesser payout this past year. PHILATHEA CLASS TO MEET The Philathea Class of the L’nited Methodist Church. Walkerton, will meet at the church on Geor- > gia Street on Thursday, December 13 for the annual Christmas dinner and gift exrhange.
