October 24, 1963 The United Fund Drive for Walkerton and Lincoln Twp. is ever and again the chairman is able to report that the goal was reached, in fact, it was exceeded by seven percent. A total of $886.82 was given. Once again the Walkerton Police would like to ask all bicycle riders to refrain from riding bicycles on the sidewalks in the business district. This is in violation of a Town Ordinance and is dangerous. Racks have been picvided at the ends of the blocks for bicycles and no one is to ride on the sidewalks I etween Michigan and Indiana Streets on Roosevelt Road. October 31, 1963 Tuesday will find six offices being contested in Walkerton’s Town eketk n as 10 men seek the positions of the Town Council and two are running for the ClerkTreasur rs jvb. The election held eveiy four years will be at one decti n center, the Town Hall Building, with entrance through the police station. The annua; Halloween Party and Parade will unfold at 6:30 tonight at the march of the witches, spooks, goblins, etc., beguis from the Post Ollice and travels to the elementary school building. Six men are opposed and the k lerk-treasurer is supported by both parties for the Town election in North Liberty. The Liens Club of North Liberty would like to know how many people aie interested in free mail service fiom house to house. If enough people express an interest, a survey will be taken and the results will be turned m to the proper authorities for possibe action.
