Mrs. Lawrence Taylor, of Monroe. Michigan, was here on Saturday as a guest of Mrs. Esther Kaufman. She also called on Mr. and Mrs. Amos Bierly and Mrs. Emma Zigler. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jackson and daughter will leave on Thurs. day. August 16 for their new home in Fort Myers, Florida. They will be staying in a mobile home at his brothers until a permanent location can be found. .Loren Capek won three honorable mention ribbons at the Nap. panee Festival Art Show held at Amish Acres last week for “Green Field.” an acrylic; “Show Road,’’ 0.l and pastels; and “Practice Hour,” ink drawing. Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Beard, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bodeman, Miss Dorothea Brenner and Albert Brenner, of Koontz Lake, were dinner guests on August 9 of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Blossey, in Plymouth. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Nels Hokanson, Plymouth, and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Evanscm, of Knox. Mrs. Pearl Stull was host for the Newcomer-Stump reunion at her home on Sunday with 50 guests present for the day. Her only living cousin was present, and is S 3 years old. She is Mrs. Saloma Knowlton, of North Liberty. Miss Dorothea Brenner and Al Brenn r will serve as hostess and host for the Saturday evening carry in dinner at the Koontz Lake Conservation Club at 5:30 p.m. All members please remember the monthly business meeting will be this Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the club house. There will be no carry in dinner on August 25 on account of the Christmas in August Sale being held all day by the members. On Sunday, August 5. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Smith were pleasantly surprised when a number of guests came walking in with a carry in dinner to help Mrs. Smith celebrate her birthday. Guests were Mr. ans Mrs. Calvin Kronk, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Stuntz, Mr. and Mrs. Clell Fouts, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Taylor and Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Skinner. Mr. and Mr J John Kircofe and daughter, of Ft. Wayne, were week end visitors with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Ullery. Sunday evening they celebrated Dale Ullery’s birthday with a cook out at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Mercer and sons. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Houser and family. of North Liberty, were also guests for the cook out.

Sunday Mrs. Glenn Jacob and Mrs. Wendell Jacob were in Nappanee to the Alts Festival at Amish Acres. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Oetjen, of Evanston, 111., were guests la : t Thursday of Mrs. George Lanphere and her brother, William Bcelkins. Th week before their Thursday guests were Mrs. Mar. vin Metz, Mrs. Ann Patrick, Mrs. Harry Lambert and Mrs. Peter J. M chaels, of South Bend. Sunday Mrs. Lanphere and her brother Bill visited their aunts, Misses Maybelle and Martha Boelkins, in Lafayette. Mr. and Mrs. Albion Conners of Mulberry, Indiana were callers of Mrs. Roy Miller recently. Mrs. Ruth Bare, of North Liberty. fell in her home last week and broke here left hip and the is in Memorial Hospital. She was still suffering from a broken left arm from a fall a few weeks before. M.ss Janet Bierly came home last Wednesday from a three week trip to the Canada Maritime Provinces. She was accompanied by two girl friends from Chicago. They flew to Quebec and rented a car to tour the Province.- which included New Bruns, wick, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia. They reported the scenery is beautiful and a wonderful trip was enjoyed. Mrs. Herbert Holsinger and Miss Becky Weber, of Terre Haute, spent last week here visiting Mrs. Holsinger's daughters and their families; Mrs. Lynn Stull; Mrs. Mike Corbett and Mrs. Leßoy Whittaker. Becky Weber stayed with the Stulls as a guest of their daughter, Terry. Miss Laurie Wilson, of Saw. yer, Michigan, spent several days this week visiting her cousin, Miss Joni Back. Mrs. Dottie Bourne, of Coral Gables, Florida, and Mrs. Eugene Hewitt, of Southbury, Conn., were guests of Mr. and Mrs’ Francis Gindelberger last week. Both ladies are former Walkerton residents. Mrs. Louise Houser returned to her home Tuesday from Me. mortal Hospital, South Bend. Mrs. Richard Seager a and three children. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Fitzgerald and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Cover were in Muskegon, Michigan, on Saturday evening, to attend the wedding of Tim Koches, grandson of the late Harold Rensberger and Mrs. Alta Rensberger. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur DeMyer and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Beagles were in Fort Wayne Sunday as guests of Mrs. Gaynelle Stev. ens. Mrs. Arthur McKesson and Mrs. A. J. Daniels are still in the LaPorte Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kattau and family, of Long Island, N. w York, were here for a week visiting with h'i parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Hostetler. The 21st reunion of the descendant® of Orra and Sara Hostetler was h Id on Sunday at Stuntz Pine Forest. The re were 80 pres, ent from Union Mills, Valparaiso. Gary, Plymouth, Niles and North Liberty and New York. The reunion will be held at the same place next year and Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Heveni, of Union Mills, were elected president and secretary, respectively. Rev. and Mrs. John Goodpasture and Mrs. Alice Ann Griffith. of Anderson, Beth and Doug, returned home Friday from a vacation in the Smoky Mountains. On the way they stopped in Kentucky where they saw the birthplace of Lincoln and the Old Kentucky Home. In Tennessee they made their headquarters at Gatlinburg and enjoyed the recneation center at Gold Rush Junction and attended the Grand Ole Opera. Since arrival home they entertained friends, Bill Griffith, Mr. and Mrs. James Griffith and sons, of Lafayette and Mrr David Jones, of Chesterfield, Indiana.
