in a fire-ravaged forest. Three forests were selected for geographic distribution so that everyone could actually visit the National Children’s For* eats and also become personally involved with the reforestation activities. The forest* selected for the reforestation program were the Sen Bernardino Forest in California, the Mark Twain National Forest in Missouri and the George Washington National Forest in Virginia. By involving the public personally in a reforestation program, Hunt-Wesson felt that people would be more careful with fire in the woods and also have a more positive awareness about ecology. In fact, each person who sent in a label had a seedling purchased in his name and also received a certificate acknowledging his cooperation plus information on the importance of trees. In an effort to make the program even more meaningful, the company contributed $<5,000 to each forest so that a Nature Trail could be built. Both blind and sighted people will be able to enjoy and utilize these unique Nature Trade.
