We have been having, what they call "the Spring break-up’’ here. The larger Tanana River, which flows south thru Nenana, Alaska, has not yet broken up. Each spring the city of Nenana sponsors the “Nenana Ice Classic. * The people buy tickets, upon which they guess the exact day, hour and minute, that the river will break up. now its daylight and Todd just went to bed at 9:30 p.m. It's also daylight when he gets up in the morning. This is quite a change from last December when he went to and from school in the dark. We were glad to see the end of winter. Our coldest temperature was about 55 degrees below zero and even though there is seldom any wind, this is cold. At temperatures below 30 degrees below zero, we get a temperature inversion over the city which creates an ice fog. This condition makes driving very hazardous, especially wueo it's dark anyhow. We have purchased a home. Our address is 1409 Bluebell, Fairbanks, Alaska P 9701. We really appreciate our mail and appologize for not being able to answer all of it. We still appreciate hearing from home, so keep those cards and letters coming.
