Mr. and Mrs. Paul Richey spent Sunday with their daughter, Mis. Carel Wolford, and children, at Westville. Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Land and son Thomas, of Indianapolis, were Sunday guests of Mrs. Land’s s.ster, Mrs. George Hillis, of Koontz Lake. Mrs. George Pfeiffer was in Chicago on Wednesday of last week visiting her sister and other relatives and in the evening participated in the ineetng for Past Grand Officers Night at the OES Parkville Chapter where she is a member. She was a grand officer in the year of 1959. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Koontz, South Bend, were in Walkerton one day last week to visit with Mrs. Milo B. Slick, who is a resident of the Walkerton Nursing Home. Miss Lennie Smith, of Walkerton, and Tim Perkins, of North Liberty, were in Kokomo on Saturday to compete in a state USTA contest. Lennie won 7th place in solo for age group 17 and over and 7th place in two hattons for age 17 and over. Tim won 9th place m the 8 year old group. Mr. and Mrs. Phil Brandt returned last week from a three week vacation in Florida. While there they purchased a home at Bonita Springs and hope to make that their home after retirement. Mr. and Mrs. Brent are the parents of Mrs. Joseph Lowry. Mrs. Gils Verkier enterta.ned the members of her budge club Monday afternoon in her home. The Koontz Lake Conservation Club carry in dinner on Saturday evening will be at 5:30 p.m. at the club house with Mrs. Nellie Pfeiffer and Mrs. Dorothy Walsh as hostesses. Spec.al entertainment will follow. Dr. and Mrs. Cloyd Felix, of Lehigh Acres, Florida, are spending several days with Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Beaty and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hostetter. The ladies are sisters. All went to Ada, Ohio, on Saturday, to attend the wedding of Miss Mary Jo Lowrie who is a granddaughter of Mrs. Felix. All enjoyed Saturday night and Sunday as guests of their cousin, Mrs. Leroy Lenhart, near Belle Center, Ohio.

Sunday guests of Mrs. Bertha Uib.n were Mr. and Mrs. David Metzger, Fred Byers, of Kewanna; Mrs. Anna Allen, of Winamac; and Mrs. Ruth Hughes, of South Bend. The Fellowship Club of the local United Presbyterian Church sponsored a farewell dinner for the Russell Hart sough family on Sunday at the church. Duane Rhodes, president of the club, presented the Hartsough family with a g.ft of appreciation for all the services rendered during their years in Walkerton. They will be moving to Mishawaka after school is out this month.
