Craig DeMyer was home to spend the week end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur DeMyer. Sunday gseuts in the DeMyer home were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Schober and Mrs. Marguerite of Chicago. , Mrs. Fayette Dunn received word last week of her sister-in-law from Martinsburg, West Virginia, Mrs. Raymond Dunn, passed away. Mrs. Dunn had been there two weeks previous and spent several days with her. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Henry and sons were in Sandusky, Ohio, over the week end to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Leo Beir an<4 Jeff. Mr. Beir and Mr. Henry w’ere buddies in the navy when they served together and were happy to visit again. Mrs. Garland Lawrence returned home Monday from a 10 day visit in Grapevine, Texas, with Mr. and Mrs. Ken Wray. The weather was hot but it didn’t stop the sight seeing as they attended a state fair, seen No No Nannette, and the Johnson Ranch and home along with other sites. Mrs. Wilder Burnside returned last week from a trip to Redfield, South Dakota, where she attended the 50th wedding anniversary of her brother, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Phoebus. She was accompanied on the trip by her sister, Mrs. Edith Baumgartner, of Milford, and two other friends. Visitors during the last week in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Rensberger were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fisher, of Clinton, Arkansas, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Rensberger, of Sherwood, Ohio, Mrs. George Glissman, Bloomfield, Montana, Mr. Ray Rensberger, North Liberty, Miss Vita Rensberger, of Knightstown, Indiana, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Rensberger and sons, memorial services of Herbert Rensberger tin South Bnd and spent some time' with Mrs. Harold Rensberger who is confined to her home with illness but who appreciates callers to help pass the time. On Sunday callers were David Rensberger and Pam Ross, of Roann, Mrs. Lucille Ward and Mr. and Mrs. Lyle McCormick, of North Liberty.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Brenner ! and daughter Marcia, of Evan- I ston, Illinois, were week end । guests of Don’s father, William, and his aunt and uncle, Dorothea and Albert Brenner, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Knowlton were in Bremen on Sunday for a family gathering of the Kelver families at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kelver. Those present were Mrs. Margie Neidhnger, of Culver; Mrs. Lois Klatt, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Klatt and daughters, Miss Marie Klatt, Mishawaka; Mrs. William Harrell and family, of Argos; Mrs. Mildred Williams, Mr. anti Mrs. James Williams and daughters, Plymouth; and Mr. and Mrs. John Pittman, Plymouth. The carry-in dinner for the Koontz Lake Conservation Club will be at 5:30 p.m. at the club house Saturday evening with Mrs. Harry Webster and Mrs. Alex Kuklinski serving as hosts for the evening. The social hour will follow. Mr. and Mrs. Herald Hostetler and family entertained at dinner Sunday for their son Ronald, who is leaving for the armed service on October 27. Mr. and Mrs. Randall Rosenbaum, route 2. Walkerton, are the parents of a son born on Monday, October 23, in the E Street Division Hospital, LaPorte. UNITED FUND DRIVE UNDERWAY Once again the United Fund of St. Joseph County Drive is in progress. Mrs. William Elkin, Walkerton, is again chairman for the Walkerton area and is asking for contributions from any interested person in this area. Local merchants have been con* tacted and have contributed generously.
