John Wathen spent the week in Fairbanks, Alaska, on official business. Friday evening Mr. ana Mrs. Harold Knowlton visited her two sisters, Mrs. Marge Neidlinger, in Burr Oak, who was recently released from the Indianapolis Hospital, and Mrs. Mildred Williams, in Plymouth. Republican Rally at the John Glenn High School on Wednesday, October 4, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Dr. Otis Bowen, Don Newman and Other candidates to be present, paid political adv. Mrs. isan Ward, Mrs. F. M. Dunn, Mrs. George Barden and Mrs. Oscar Barney were guests of a former Walkerton resident, Mrs. Robert Dixon, the former Hilda Smith, and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Smith, near Loogootee, Indiana, last week end. At Lafayette they called on Dennis Dunn at his office and in New Market they called on Mrs. Clyde Myers, widow of a former Presbyterian minister in Walkerton and on Saturday they enjoyed a picnic dinner at Hindostan Falls Park on the White River. They then went on a tour of the hill country under the direction of Mrs. Dixon with stops at Spring Valley, West Baden and French Lick. They attended church with their host and after a nice dinner at Mrs. Dixon's mobile home, they returned home thru a two hour heavy rain storm. Mrs. Dixon and Mrs. Smith send their regards to their friends in and around Walkerton.

Asa Clevenger was dismissed on Sunday from the Pine Lake Division Hospital in LaPorte. Mrs. Mamie Mackin is a surgical patient in the E Street Division Hospital, LaPorte. Other patients in the same hospital are John Anspaugh, Frances Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Groshans. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Chapman and Mrs. Bess Ferverda were Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Wagner and family and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Haas and family of New Carlisle. Week end guests of Mrs. Russell Smith, of Koontz Lake, were Mr. and Mrs. Manuel Perez, of Benidorm, Spain, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Moehler, of Pittsburgh, Pa. Guest for the week end of Mr. and Mrs. Evar Peterson, Koontz Lake, were Mr. and Mrs. Donald Tcllefsen, of Cicero, Illinois. On Sunday evening other guests were Mr. and Mrs. George Pfeiffer for dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Beagles and family entertained for Sunday dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Beagles, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Hellinga and family, of Middlebury, and Mrs. Roy Miller present. Glen Klinedinst, of Bremen, was a Sunday afternoon caller of his brother, Orville Klinedinst.

Miss Pam Koss and David Kensberger, of Wabash, were visitors Sunuay with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kenscerger. Ou Monday, Mi. and Mrs. Ray Rensberger, of Sherwuod, Ohio, spent tile day here with Mr. and Airs. Harold Rensberger. Saturday evening dinner guests of Rev. and Mrs. Clyde Wake were Rev. and Mrs. Leun Hartman, of LaPorte, Rev. and Mrs. Samuel Carlton, of Plymouth, and Rev. and Mrs. Roy Eaton, of South Bend. Mis. Cleo Clark is in Sacramento, California, and has been there several weeks to help in the home of her son, Randy and family, while Mrs. Randy Clark is recuperating from a recent operation. Saturday overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Henry were Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Crerar, of Walkerton, Ontario, Canada. Mrs. Irene Jones, of Michigan City, is spending several days visiting with her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Hunt. The annual Johnson Township reunion was held Sunday at the Johnson Township Community Building with 70 present. This reunion is for people who live in Johnson Township or at some time or other have lived there. Officers elected for the next year were Raymond Smith, president; Clyde Snodgrass, vice-president; Josephine Smith, secretary-treas-urer and Sidney Smith, historian. The kitchen committee is Ruth Snodgrass chairman with Sylvia Holland and Elizabeth Steinke to assist. Mrs. Maude Mangus was the oldest person present and Elmer Blum the oldest man. Debbie Kollar was the youngest. This was the 34th year of the reunion and a day that Is enjoyed so much by those attending. Mrs. Floyd Johnson and son, of Niles, Michiigan and they furnished the entertainment for the afternoon. Mr. John Dreessen and Mr. Hubert Humbree will be the welcoming committee for next year. Ice cream was enjoyed by all in the afternoon furnished by the men of the group.
