Dave Polston added the extra point from placement and the Jimmies had a 7-0 lead. Dander also scored the second period tally as he recovered a nun »le in the end zone. Once mote Polston’s toe was accurate and it was 14-0 at halftime. Jimtown’s defense was completely containing the Shamrocks and the offense their pressure as the Elkhart County team tallied twice in each of the second half periods. OKE ASSUMES NEW POSITION Dr. and Mrs. Festus E. Oke, of North Liberty, left September 13, for Tallahassee, Florida, where Dr. Oke will assume a ’\ew position. Dr. Oke is a graduate of Indiana University, Bloomington. He received his Doctoral Degree in higher education last July, 1972. He has been appointed as the
acting chairman, School of eduI cation and Director of media sei vices at Florida A & M t inversity. , । Mrs. Oke, formerly Connie J. • Davis, the daughter of Mr. and I Mrs. James H. Davis Si., oi North Liberty, is also a graduate ot । Indiana University, Bloomington. I For the past four years Mrs. Oke ■ has been an elementary school I teacher in the Polk-Lincoln-John-son School Corporation. She resigned from her work to be with , her husband at their new station. Mrs. Oke said that though she was sorry to leave she would sincerely like to thank the members of the community, the school corporation and her collegues with I whom she has been associated for their cooperation and friendly atmosphere which prevailed throughout her career as a teacher. She said it was a pleasure to work and be among such nice people and this memory will be with her wherever she goes. OES NEWS । The first fall meeling of Walkerton Chapter 319, Order of the Eastern Star, was held Tuesday evening, September 5. Mr. and Mrs. Myron Mullet seated in the East. Mrs. Mullet greeted the members and officers with a poem, “My Son’s First Day at School." She introduced Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Hembiee, of Dorland Chapter O. E. S., Union Mills, Indiana, as guests. Under the direction of Wurth Patron Mr. Mullet, Miss Jacklyn Hembree was received into the order by initiation. Mrs. Mullet reported that two members, Mrs. Charles Finch, of Hanna, and Mrs. Glen Walz, Walkerton, were presented their 50 year jewels Sunday afternoon, August 27, by Mis. Christine Oberly, of Bremen, Past Grand Matron of the Indiana Grand Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, in the Walz home. Both women are past worthy matrons g£ Walkerton Chapter 319.
