Mr. and Mrs. Ted Feece, route 3, Walkerton, will celebrate their 25th Anniversary with an open house from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, September 10, at the American Legion Hall, in Walkerton. Mr. Feece and the former Susan Steele were united in marriage at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Steele, Walkerton, on September 14, 1947. They have three sons, Jerry, Wayne and and Dale. They are looking forward to seeing their friends and relatives. “Absolutely no gifts please.’’ r~7wS ’ Dean Miller, of New Road, ne- ’ phew of Mrs. Bertha Schrader, visited her on Sunday afternoon. He will be leaving on Friday for his senior year to the All Boys Tech College, in Terre Haute. Mr. and Mr*. Robert Clingenpeel have returnad home after attending the funeral of their niece at Port Huron, Michigan. Mrs. William Jones Sr. returned home recently from Crandon, Wisconsin, after spending two weeks with her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Perry. The WMS of the First Brethren Church will meet at the church on Friday, September 8, at 7:30 p.m. Laymen of the church will also meet on Friday at Durwood Clark’s. Mr. and Mrs. Manin King were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth King, in Niles, Michigan. Mr. and Mrs. George Sheneman spent Saturday and Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Loren Thompson, at Peoria, Illinois. Mrs. Cecil Hay and Miss Thelma Hay returned home Sunday from a two weeks vacation trip visiting a daughter and her family of Mrs. Hay, at Littleton, Colorado, and they visited Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Voth, Wendy and SheUi at Colorado Springs. They visited Capt. and Mrs. Gerald Bucsek and a cousin in St. Louis, Mo.

Mrs. Esther Harman has been in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, since last Thursday. She had eye surgery on Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Naragon and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Sheneman called on Mr. and Mis. Russell Clark Sunday evening. Mrs. Betty Adelsberger and children and granddaughter, of South Bend, called on Mrs. Gertrude Sheneman on Monday afternoon. Mrs. William Kurzhal and granddaughter Kathy Kurzhal, of South Bend, were recent guests of Nellie Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Taylor. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin King, Mr. and Mrs. Harry' Clark and Mrs. Gertrude Sheneman are spending several days this week at the Golden Age Retreat, at Shipshewana. Tingle, 67, who resided with her daughter, Mrs. Jean Bowen Harman, of Vandalia, Ohio, formerly at North Liberty, died at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 30, in St. Joseph Hospital, South Bend, after a brief illness. Mrs. Tingle was born on September 4, 1904, in North Liberty, and had lived in that area most of her life. She returned to this area for health reasons. Surviving besides her daughter, are a son, Gary, of Vine Grove, Ky.; a stepson, Jerry Tingle, of Osceola; a step daughter, Mrs. Estelle Whitmer, South Bend; five grandchildren; two brothers, Markwood Edison, of South Bend; and Chester Edison, of North Liberty; a foster brother, W. D. Ruffner, of Zeeland, Michigan; four sisters, Mrs. Betty Livengood, of South Bend; Mrs. Marie Powers, of Mishawaka; Mrs. Olive Hartaough, Gary; and Mrs. Myrtle Raker, of Crown Point; and a foster sister. Mrs. Jean O’Neill, of Massachusetts. Mrs. Tingle was the former Beulah Edison. Services were held at 2:00 p.m.

Mrs. Imgle was a foimer member of the Sumption Prairie Church, and a member ol the Vandalia United Methodist Chinch, the Women's Society ol Cnnstiun Service, the Sumption Prairie Woman's Club, the Home Demonstration Club, and was a past president oi the Greene Twp. P.T.A. She wag also a member of the Vandalia Senior Citizens Club. Garland A. Lawrenre Garland A. (Butch) Lawrence, 71, of route 1, Walkerton, died at 3:00 p.m. Saturday in the Walkerton Nursing Home, after an extended illness. He was a retired farmer and for about 10 years he was a radio dispatcher for the Walkerton Police Department. He was born on December 31, 1900, in Columbia City, Indiana, and he had lived in Walkerton for 50 years. On November 23, 1927, he married Thelma Hudelmyer in Akron, Ohio. She survives along with two brothers, James I-aw-rence, Fountain Valley, California; and David Lawrence, of Walkerton; two sisters, Mrs. Eber Burch, New Carlisle; and Mrs. Robert Hostetler, of Walkerton. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Walkerton United Methodist Church with Rev. Clyde D. Wake, pastor, ofliciating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery. He was a member of the church, a member and past master of Walkerton Lodge 619, F. A AM.; a member of Alpha class of St. Joseph Valley of Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine and Moose Lodge 58, Smith Bend. Clifford Wolff Funeral services for Clifford Eugene Wolff. 57, route 1, Mill Creek, who died suddenly at 8:10 pjn., Monday, August 28. at South Bend Memorial Hospital, were at 10:00 a. m. He was boin January 10, 1915, in Pleasant Towm-hip to Adam and Emma (Bergman) Wolff and had lived in the area all his life. Mr. Wolff was a farmer. He was married in South Bend to Thelma Singleton, June 9, 1953. He was a World Wai II veteran, a member of the American Legion Post 400 and the Fish Lake 40 and 8 and was a past commander of Post 400. Surviving are his wife; one son, James Wolff, Korea; one daughter, Mrs. Lorraine Baker, South Bend; four stepdaughters, Mrs. Louetta Blinkley, Ohio; Mrs. Lois Lovitt, South Bend; Mrs. Linda Litteral, LaPorte; and Mrs. Carol Scott, Bish Lake; four brothers, Roy, South Bend; Walker, Walkerton; Albert, Lansing, Michigan; and Delbert, Hamlet; and five sisters, Mrs. Lolita Nelson, New Tracy; Mrs. Anita Snyder, North Liberty; Mrs. Minnie Shaffer, Kingsford Heights, Mrs. Mary Opyrak, Carpentersville, HL; and Mrs. Dorothy Saylor, Walkerton.
