Everett Baker was admitted to the Pine Lake Division Hospital in LaPorte on Monday afternoon lor tests. On Tuesday of last week Mrs. Clem Hahn, of Mill Creek, and Mia. Nonnan Jones and Mark, of Michigan City, were visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schmeltz. Other visitois were Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Walters, of South Bend. Arthur Ziglei is a surgical patient in the E Street Division Hospital. He was admitted on Thursday'. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gore and family, of Crete, Illinois, were here Sunday to visit her mother. Mis. Frank Dunn and Miss Lisa Jane Gore, who had spent the week here and then returned home with her parents. Miss Jacob Durst, of Brookfield, Illinois, is here for an indefinate visit with her sister-in-law, Mrs. Esther Kauffman. On Friday, August 25, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Staley, 605 Monroe St., were hosts to a party given in honor of Rev. and Mrs. Benny Miiler and son Paul, of Clinton, Tenn. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Steve Smith and family. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Blinding, Mr. and Mrs. Clell Fouts. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Conkle, Mrs. Walter Gcrsline, Mrs. Dennis Cripe and daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur McKesson, Barbara McGee. Ruth Laßere and friend. Refreshments were served consisting of ice cream, cake and coffee.

Mrs. George Ferverda arrived here last luesday from Lake Wales, Florida, lor a month s stay among relatives and friends. She will be staying al the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Chapman. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Hunt came home on Thursday from a 10 day stay with their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Norris Bussie, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. Mrs. Bussie had surgery while her parents were there. Mrs. Vonna Steele and Mrs. Ethel Hilligis, of South Bend, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Baker and family, of Bremen, and Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Baker and family were Sunday afternoon and evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Baker. Mr. and Mrs. Leigh Roy Hahn and family and grandchildren weie Sunday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hahn in Plymouth for a cook out. Mr. and Mrs. Charles ‘•Butch” Smith and family, of Bourbon, and Rev. and Mrs. Harold William-, of Elkhart, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Kerchaert. £ | The tall meeting of the Koontz Lake Consei vation Club will be held beginning with the usual car-ry-in dinner at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday evening at the club house. The hostesses will be Mrs. Elizabeth Michalski and Mrs. Lauretta MacArthur. The club house presents a nice new appearance now with the aluminum siding, new’ shutters, etc., and a few’ more repairs to be made in the future. Come on out Saturday and enjoy the first meeting in the building. A social hour will follow’ the dinner. Mrs. Robert Cripe and Robin, of Whittier, California, were Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Stull and family. They are returning to California today after a month’s stay in Walkei ton among relatives and friends. Mr. ad Mrs. Agnew Ludwig. Falcons Drop Season Opener John Glenn's young football Falcons fell to Rochester and their high scoring Jim Swank Friday ■ in the opening game of the 1972 1 season. The final score was 30-0 in a game that seen last year's stale scoring leader tally three touchdowns and run two conversions in for 22 points. Their third score was lightning fast as Glenn turned the i ball over on downs and Swank promptly thrilled the crowd with . a 54 yard scamper that showed ' both his ability to get free and i his speed.
