Mr. and Mrs. Jay A. Peterson will be at home at 126-11 Marshall Drive, West Lafayette, after August 19 following their honeymoon to southern Indiana. ton. Mr. and Mrs. John A Peterson, route 3, Plymouth, are the parents of the bridegroom. ( The altar was decorated with yellow rosebuds, baby carnations and baby's breath. Mrs. David Lawrence provided the organ accompaniment for Mrs. Kenneth Klinedinst to sing “Somewhere My Love,” “Wedding Song,” and “We’ve Only Just Begun.* Given in marriage by her father, the bride was lovely wearing a silk organza gown in an empire design with nylon embroidery
and bows. The high waist was marked with a tiny ruffle with tiny bows which also marked the cuffs of the short puff sleeves, A stand-up collar and short white gloves completed her gown. Her matching cap held a satin bow to hold her bouffant chapel length veil of imported silk illusion. She carried a colonial bouquet of white baby carnations, yellow rose buds and baby's breath. Bridal attendants were a sister to the bride and the brother ot the bridegroom, Mr. ( and Mrs. Richey Peterson, Plymouth. Serving her sister as matron of honor, Sandra was dressed in yellow silk organza in an empire style with high collar and short puff sleeves. She wore fresh flowers in her hair and carried a nosegay bouquet of yellow and white carnations and yellow roses. Richey Peterson served his brother as best man. Ushers were bi others of the bride, John W. and Steven A. Morris, route 3, Plymouth. Another bother, Michael L. Morris, was candlelighter. A reception for 400 guests was held at the Swan Lake club house. The bride's chosen colors of yellow and white decorated the room. Cupids and flowers topped the three tiered wedding cake with yellow accent. It was cut and served by Mrs. Greg Tyler, Muskegon, Michigan, a cousin to the bridegroom. Mrs. Neil Downey and Mrs. James Daley, Walkerton, presided at the coffee service and the punch bowl. Miss Nancy Peterson, sister of the bridegroom, was in charge of the guest book. The newlyweds are both graduates of John Glenn High School. Dr. and Mrs. Bryce Rohrer, route 3, Walkerton, are the parents of a daughter born on Tuesday, August 1, in the E Street Division Hospital, LaPorte. She has been named Angela Kay and weighed in at eight pounds, 11 ounces and measures 22 inches. DORCAS CIRCLE MEETS The Dorcas Circle of St. John's Lutheran Church met on July 12 at the home of Mrs. Lloyd Umbaugh. The topic on abortion was given by Mrs. Charles Springman. A good discussion followed. The group voted to give a donation to the Robbie O’Connor fund. A discussion was held regarding placing new shrubs around the front part of the church. A few other items were discussed also. The meeting was closed with the repeating of the missionary benediction followed by a lovely luncheon served by the hostess. MIRIAM CIRCLE MEETS The Miriam Circle of St. John’s Lutheran Church met on July 19 at the home of Mrs. Tom Fisher with seven members and five children present. The topic on the value of a good wije and also a small article on drugs was given by Mrs. John Nichols. On August 20, the congregation will have a food shower on our new pastor and his family. The LCW will see that the food gets transported to the parsonage in time for the Peterson's arrival. The ladies are to prepare the tables on Sunday, September 10. for the welcome dinner planned for Rev. and Mrs. Peterson and family. A few additional items were discussed before the meeting was closed by repeating the missionary benediction. A lovely luncheon was served by the hostess. ENJOY EIGHT DAYTRIP / Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cripe Jr< and daughter Kari, and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Dixon, Walkerton, returned last week from an eight day vacation with Mr. and Mrs. Dirk Pletcher, in Cheyenne, Wyo, While there they enjoyed the 76th Annual Frontier Days celebration. They partook of the free open air breakfast, which served 6000 persons on Wednesday. They enjoyed the Roger Miller Show, the Air Force Thunder Birds Air Show, the Rodeo and the beautiful parades during the week. Theyvisited the Snowy Mountain Range in Medicine Beau Na tional Park and the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. They called on Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Morgan in Laramie, Wyo., and found Mrs. Morgan's parents, Mr, and Mrs. Burl Wickham, of Walkerton, visiting.
