The United Metholist Church, ,Valkerton, was the scene for the June 16 wedding of Miss Kay ^ripe and Dirk Lynn Pletcher. Rev. ^lyde Wake officiated at the louble ring 7 o’clock candlelight ceremony before an altar decorat?d with arrangements of white gladioli and yellow pom pons inerspearsed with three lighted handles and flanked with branch ?andelabras entwined with yellow ind white pom pons. The bride appeared on the arm of her father In a gown of white 1 sheer organza accented with reembroidered alencon lace styled with sheer bishop sleeves, high neckline and a bib effect on the bodice which continued into the 1 bell shaped skirt. roses and baby’s breath. Miss Karen Wardman, Walkerton, was maid of honor and the bridesmaids were Miss Kari Cripe, sister of the bride, Walkerton; Miss Debbie Pletcher, sister of the bridegroom, Walkerton; and Miss Vickie Adams, route 2, Walkerton. The bride’s attendants were identically attired in yellow dotted swiss gowns styled with high necklines, bishop sleeves and bib effects on the bodice that continued into the A-line skirts. They carried long stemmed yellow roses with light green streamers and wore yellow picture hats with yellow ribbons. They carried long stemmed roses with light green streamers. Dana Pletcher, Chicago, served as best man for his brother, Curt Pletcher, brother of the groom, Dean Snyder, LaPaz; and Paul Mcßride, of Tyner, wer ushers. Acolytes were Michael and David Erdelyi, nephews of the bride. A reception was held immediately following the ceremony in the former church building. The bride's chosen colors of yellow and white were carried out in the decorations or crepe paper streamers and wedding bells. White net coveed the serving table which was centered with a four tiered wedding cake and topped with yellow and white pom pons. Lighted candles were surrounded with fresh flowers, Karol Cripe, niece of the bride, of Commerce, Texas, was in charge of the guest book. Assisting in the serving were Mrs. Myrlyn Bella, who cut the cake, Mrs, Linda Clark, serving the cake, and Miss Cindy Huhnke, pouring the punch. The newlyweds are residing in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where the bridegroom is stationed at the Warren Air Force Base. The bride is a 1972 graduate of John Glenn High School and was employed at the Walkerton^ License Branch prior to the wedding. Married A double ring ceremony in the Blissville Church of the Brethren united Miss Doris Gardner and Danny Barden in marriage on June 17 with Rev. Paul Mcßride Sr., officiating. Mrs. Gene Summers provided traditional wedding music on the organ. Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Keith Gardner, route 1, Walkerton, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Barden, route 1, Walkerton, are the parents of the groom. Tiny pearl clusters and irridescent beads highlighted the empire bodice of the bride’s gown fashioned with re-embroidered Alencon lace with a ruffle of lace at the neckline. Camelot sleeves were of lace and organza and appiques of lace pointed the A-line skirt and detachable chapel length organza train. A lace petal plateau held her short veil of illusion. She carried a colonial bouquet of white roses and red stephanotis. Mrs. Tom Gardner, sister-in-law of the bride, served as matron of honor and Miss Nancy Jackson was the bridesmaid. The attendants wore flocked sheer gowns with long sleeves and matching sashes. The matron of honor was in orchid and the bridesmaid was in yellow. Each wore matching headpieces of braided organza with long streamers and carried bouquets of aster zinnias. In green sheer was the flower girl, Miss Margo Boswell, cousin of the bride, and Master George Rough, nephew of the groom, carried the rings. Barden is employedat Precision Pallets, Walker- [ ton - ATTEND REUNION IN NORTH DAKOTA Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Stickley, Walkerton, returned home from a vacation in northwest North DaL kota where they attended a fivej year reunion of the Hartsoch , family. There were 10 states ( represented and the farthest came from North Carolina. _ There is only one brother left and a sister out of nine children. Airs. Mary Gordon, of Walkerton, is the sister. There were 148 people there and it was held at Tioga, N. D. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and the local paper came and took pictures for a special edition. Mrs. Stickley’s grandfather, Rev. John Hartsoch, lived in Indiana near Walkerton and raised ’ part of his family and then homesteaded in North Dakota. The reunion will be held in ' Walkerton in five years. Our hope is that Walkerton can be as friendly at Tioga, N.
