□ □ i MARKI A O E S i □ Q Platz - Loutzenhiser Miss June Ann Platz became the bride of Bary Neil Bautzenhiser on Saturday, May 20, at Pine Creek Church of the Breth- ( ern North Liberty, Indiana, Rev. Michael Hudson oficiated at the 2:00 p.m. ceremony which was followed by a reception in the church youth room. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl E. Platz. R.R. 1, Walkerton, Indiana. The bridegroom is the sun ' of Mr. and Mrs. Beryl Loutzen- ' hiser. Randolph Street, Garrett, Indiana. Miss Brenna Clark was maid of honor and Miss Jean Truax, cousin of the bride, attended as bridesmaid. Miss Clark and Miss Truax were dressed in pastel green gowns and carried baskets of green, yellow and white daisy mums. The bride's gown was accented with ribbon of pastel green and she carried a bridal banquet of her chosen colors, green, yellow and white. Attending the groom as best man was Stephan Hipsher, Mishawaka, Indiana. Glenn Platz brother of the bride, served as groomsman and usher. Van Loutzenhiser, brother of the groom also served as usher. Miss Kristine Brown. North Liberty and Miss Barbara Herbster. Lakeville was soloist and organist. The bride is a 1971 graduate of North Liberty High School and attended Manchester College, North Manchester, Indiana. The groom is in the United States Air Force, taking Basic training at Lackland Air Force Base. San Antonio, Texas. The bride will be staying with her parents until July. At that time she will join her husband at Chanute Air Force Base, Rantool, Illinois where they will be residing. NIPSCO Piomalas Dan Cover Dan L. Cover, 37, Hobart, has been promoted to assistant general corrosion engineer in the technical services section of Northern Indiana Public Service Company's general engineering department, Herbert F. Findling, manager of general engineering, has announced. Cover will report to David P. Downey genera] corrosion engineer Cover started in the construction department in 1963 and later moved to the general engineering
department as a junior electrolysis engineer. He was named a test engineer in 1966 and an electrical engineer in 1969. i Born and educated in Walkerton, Cover graduated from Valpa- , raiso Technical Institute as an ! electronic technician. He is the । son of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Cover and is married to the former Shir- ; ley Klinedinst. The Covers have three sons, ages 13, 8 and 5. f/ KIDDIE DAY PARADE The Kiddie Parade was a great success this year with many more entries than ever before. Participation ribbons were presented to all entries by Miss Sue Morris,
last year's festival queen. i Trophies were awarded to five of the best entries. Winners were Shelly Malstaff as Raggedy Ann; Kathy and Wendy Rohrer as Geppetto and Pinocchio; Tom Turner i as Wolfman on his Bicycle; Pun i the Magic Dragon portrayed by Matt and Julie Awald and Jen I and Julie Van Buskirk; and Greg 1 I and John Jxiwry and John and Debbie Wolf as characters from Wind in the Willow. The entire parade was under the direction of William Babb and hi l committee Mrs. Glenn Jacob and Bill Elkin. Games and conte.-* i followed the parade with priz< , being awarded to the winners.
