Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Kurzhal attended the graduation of their gianddaughter Debbie Kurzhal. in Valparaiso from Valparaiso High School last Friday evening. Mr, and Mrs. Ramon Carlson, Soutu Bend, called on Mr. and Mrs, Fred Schultz on Memorial Day. Mrs. Pauline Morris and children and their families held a reunion and pot luck dinner on Memorial Day at the home of Mr. and Mis. Jerry Morris and family on State Road 23. North Liberty. Mrs. Gertrude Sheneman, Mrs. Walter Strope and Mrs. Cari Fults of Lake of the Woods, spent last Thursday with Mrs. Ronald Laidig and Michelle in Indianapolis. Mr. and Mrs. Orval Town, of Rochester, were Memorial Day dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin King and afternoon callers were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Sahli, of Niles, Michigan, Mr. and Mrs. Verle Zimmerman and daughter Leann, of Ft. Wayne, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hammaker, of North Liberty. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Craft and Brent, of South Bend, called on Mrs. Nellie Smith on Saturday afternoon. OPEN HOUSE TO BE HELD ON SATURDAY Miss Jo Nowlain and Pfc James T. Hughes Jr., were united in marriage on Friday, May 12 in the Base Chapel at Millington, Tennessee. An open house will be given in honor of the couple by his sisters. The groom attended North Liberty High School and is now serving in the United States Marine Corps. The couple will be spending a few days with his parents while enroute to his next base on the west coast. First Bap’ist To Dedicate Building In North Liberty The First Baptist Church of North Liberty, Indiana, will dedicate its new sanctuary and educational building on Sunday. June 11. There will be special services all day with the afternoon service at 2:30 p.m. being the actual “Dedication Service.” Dr. Vaughn Sprunger, pastor of the Community Baptist Church in South Bend, will deliver the dedicatory message. Dr. Roy Hamman, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Mishawaka, will present the charge to the pastor Rev. George Joseph, pastor of Faith Baptist Church in South Bend, will give the charge to the people. Rev. Irwin Olson, State Representative for the Indiana GARBC. will bring greetings from the state fellowship. The sanctuary of this new facility will seat 400 people, and the educational area will be adequate to care for 250 or more. The church is located at 407 Elm Street, in North Liberty, Indiana. According to the pastor, Rev. Russell Schelling, everyone is invited to this grand occasion.
