Uiey Spring Concert Set For May 4 The Urey Middle School Music Department of Walkerton will present its annual Spring Concert on Thursday, May 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the John Glenn High School Auditorium. As usual all Urey music groups will perform but for the first time ever, the seventh and eighth grade Band and Choir portion will be professionally recorded by the G. & E. Recording Studios of Mishawaka. From this tape of their live performance, a twelve inch, stereo long play album will be cut. The record may be ordered the night of the performance. This is not a money making project nor will it be an expense to the school or the music department. The record is being made on a trial basis for the purpose of education. The Urey bands are directed by Mr. Donald Schwing. Admission to the concert is 75 cents and tickets are available from the students. Urey choirg are under the direction of Mrs. Sheryl Ringer with Mrs. Beth Carter as accompanist. ALUMNI BANQUET The Alumnus of Walkerton High School are planning their annual banquet and evening with former classmates, Saturday evening, May 27 at the John Glenn High School. Onicers of the Association are: Homer Stoneburner, president; Carl Stienke, vice-president; and Mrs. John Wolff, secretary-treas-urer’. □ Q J 6 T VARIES □ g Raymond Burnett Raymond Burnett, 69, of 64839 Liberty Tr., North Liberty, died at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, in his residence of an apparent heart attack. He was a retired employee of the Studebaker Corp, where he was empoyed 25 years He was born on May 22, 1902, in West Terre Haute, and had lived in North Liberty area 25 years, coming fom South Bend. On Sept. 24 1918, in Bloomfield, Ind., he married Mabel V. Robinson, who survives, along with two sons, Raymond Jr. and William E., both of South Bend; two daughters, Mrs Helen Hensley of North Liberty, and Miss Melvena Burnett of South Bend; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and three half sisters, Mrs. Jessie Heisman of Michigan City, Mrs. Mae Tetrick of Vicksburg, Ind., and Mrs. Mildred Zellers of Terre
Haute, and a half brother, Otto Bridwell of Michigan City. Services were 2 p.m. Saturday in North Liberty Church of Christ, with Rev. Tom Jones, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Westlawn Cemetery, North Liberty. Mr. Burnett was a member of the North Liberty Church of Christ. Mary Anna Gollhofer Mary Anna Gollhofer, former resident, passed away on Monday, May 1 in the Evergreen Garden Nursing Home, Evergreen Park, Illinois. She was bom in Germany on October 14, 1893. Internment was at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Drumm Funeral Home, South Holland, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church, Walkerton. K. L. Fire Dept. In addition to the fire calls and monthly training, Dr. Rohrer, of the Walkerton Medical Clinic was presented with an honorary membership. During the year of 1971, Dr. Rohrer conducted first aid training at four of the department's training sessions. On April 11 of 1972, Dr. Rohrer conducted a refresher course in first aid to the firemen. In the history of the department there has only been two honorary memberships, the first being Harry Fries, of Koontz Lake, and the second Dr. Rohrer.
