p.m. Monday at homo after an extended illness. He retired from Wells Aluminum Co. in North Liberty and Bums Security Div. of Kaiser Jeep Corp. He was born April 19, 1896, in Mishawaka and lived in Walkerton since 1942 coming from Elkhart. On June 26, 1935, in Elkhart, he married Elizabeth Mae Burns, who survives. Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Lura Newman, of Teegarden; two sons, Russell of Culver City, Calif., and Donald ot Los Angeles; one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Alwine of Walkerton; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church of Walkerton with Rev. Clyde D. Wake, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Mishawaka. Friends may call 7:00 to 9:00 Wednesday and 9:00 to 12:00 noon Thursday at the Nus-baum-Elkins Funeral Home. He was a member of the LaPorte Elks Club, the United Methodist Church, the Fraternal Order of Eagles of South Bend, the DAV of South Bend, the Walkerton Odd Fellows, the Lions Club, the American Legion of Walkerton, a veteran of World War I and a member of the Walkerton V.F.W. Robert Louis Holland Robert Louis Holland, 54, of 19607 Arlington St., died at 10 a m. Monday in Memorial Hospital after an illness of several months. He was an equipment maintenance man for the Twin Branch Plant of Indiana and Michigan Electric Co. He was born on Feb. 23 1918 in Walkerton and had lived in this area all of his life. On Sept. 1, 1910 in Walkerton he married Mary Barney, who survives, along with two brothers, Francis of Walkerton and Harold of Delton, Mich. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m, Wednesday at St. Paul Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Cook, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Riverview Mausoleum. Kenneth G. On May 30, 1936, in South Bend, he married Winifred Heim, who survives along with a son,Ted, of North Liberty; a daughter, Mrs. Kay Bennett, of North Liberty; six grandchildren; a brother. Ralph of Howard Lake, Minnesota; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Linvill, of Crown Point, Indiana, and Mrs. Grace Smith, of St. Claire, Michigan. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the A. M. Stmi Trailer And Train Tangle Sunday Morning A Milwaukee semi truck driver escaped serious injury when a Penn Central freight train hit his truck crossing the tracks at the west edge of Walkerton at 9:30 a.m. Sunday.
