New Prairie Solidly Stops Shamrocks Friday The New Prairie Cougars put another lo s on the North Liberty Shamrocks record Friday as they solidly def ated thtm 80-52 in a Northern States Conference game. The Cougars, with a b’g size

advantage, never left any doubt us they broke fast to gain a big 20 to 7 first quarter lead. This load was never threatened as it was increased to 35 to 20 at halftime and the Cougars were using the bench freely. The second half was more of the same. New Prairie outscoring the Shamrocks 20 to 10 in the third period and things really opened up offensively in the long before decided game in the final period as both teams had their best offensive efforts as a total of 47 points scored ran the final score to the 80 to 52 margin. New Prairie had 11 of the 12 boys score with only playmaker Jay Gilpin ml sing the scoring column. B<»b Deutscher had 11 and Matty Bush and Lirry Sh<ad each had 10. Shane Hostetler’s 11 points was the only double figure total for the Shamrock’. New Prairie’s recently crowned Bi-County B team champs also were a winner with a 57 to 46 decision over North Liberty's reserves. Dox Score New PrdJ-..
