—ax*— r Mr. and Mrs. Leigh Roy Hahn and family were in Plymouth Sunday visiting Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hahn and son. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Burch and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Brovold returned home from a weeks vacation in Nassau early Saturday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Devnun Morian of Bourbon were Sunday evening dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Guttman. A fire destroyed a trailer home Sunday around 11,00 p.m. located at the corner of Underwood and Spruce roads. The trailer and contents were completely destroyed. It was owned by Mr. and Mrs. William Glass who moved to Arizona but had rented the home. The occupants were not there at the time of the fire. Rev. William C. Babb came home Saturday from Wab;ush where he had been for several days because of the serious illness of his mother. His parents live in Wabash and his father is pastor of the Wesleyan Methodist Church here. His mother had surgery last Thursday and at this time she is reported to be doing fine and off the critical list

Mrs. Arthur DdMyer entertained her bridge club last Thursday evening in her home with three guests present. Mrs. John Bellinger, Mrs. Ray Walmouth and Mrs. George Pfeiffer. Mrs. John Guttman and Mrs. Garland Lawrence won prizes. Delicious refreshments were served by the hostess. Sunday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lowry and Brian were his mother, Mrs. Dewey Lowry, of Teegarden. and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Howell. Mrs. Lowry's and Mrs. Howell’s birthdays were both in January and the dinner was in their honor. Mrs. Dewey Lowry has moved recently to Teegarden and is very happy <n her new location. The Koontz Lake Consevation Club will hold their pot luck supper this Saturday evening at the Club House. A social hour will follow. Over 100 people were present at th e dinner served Sunday n.ght for members and guests of the club. Dinner was served by Mrs. George Pfeiffer and her crew of workers and the money was donated to the club to apply on the cost of residing the club house in the near future. The patronage was appreciated. Kerry Eaton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Eaton, of Walkerton, is confined to St. Joseph Hospital, South Bend, where he will undergo surgery’ on his left hip. He would appreciate receiving cards from his friends

and neighbors. Just one year ago he had the same type surgery on his right hip. His address js Kerry Eaton, St. Joseph Hospital, Room 438, South Bend, Indiana. Mr. and Mrs. John Engle, of South Bend, are the parent-, of a daughter Heather Marie, t >rn on Tuesday, January 11 in the Osteopath^ Hospit d. She we.ghed in at eight pounds, two ounces. Mrs. Engle is the former Gail Baker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Baker, Walkerton. DORCAS CIRCLE MEETS The Dorcas Circle of St. John's Lutheran Church met on January 12 with Mrs. William Springman as hostess. The devotions were given by Mrs. Orville Finch. Thirteen members were present with Mrs. Dennis Umbaugh joining the Circle. The program ended with a prayer and a lovely lunch served by the hostess followed. TROOP 883 NEWS Troop 333 met at the Presbyterian Church Monday, January 17 with 15 members and two leadens present. Our meeting was on deciding a skating outing.
