Mr. and Mrs. John Bickel have sold their home in Waukegan.. 111. and have moved to their new home on Osborne Road that was recently remodeled. Woid was* received here of the deah of Mr. Myron Gohn at Whitefish, Montana Mr. Gohn wdl be remembered here by his friends of the old pupils of the Rea and Forest Schools. Brian Howard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Davis was admitted in St. Joseph Hopital. South Bend, room 454 on Monday night for observation. The Singspiration wits postponed at the Church of Christ due to the weather conditions and it will be held at a later date. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Sheneman of Redwood Road are the parents of a diughter. Tricia Ann. born on Thursday, January 13. in Memorial Hospital. South Bend. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Kelver, of South Bend and Mrs. Dorothy Naragon wore recent vis.tors of Mrs. Myrtle Donathen. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Shenemin and daughters were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Sheneman. On Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Patrick and Tammy and Cleo Sheneman were supper guests. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Poynter of Kokomo spent Saturday with their parents. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey’ Poynter and Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Worthington. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Kurzhal of South Bend, were recent callers of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Kurzhal. DRIFT BREAKERS TRY AGAIN It seems old Mr. Winter dots not want to cooperate with our club. He either cancels or melts our snow or in this case, sent us the snow but sent zero temper itures. But approximately 20 men. women and children refused to let the cold stop them from having a good time. Thanks to Mrs. Colonel Bennett and Mrs. Dale Bennett, their hot coffee and chili kpt everyone almost thawed. It was decided that weather permitting, and if there is a good blanket of snow, the club will try to meet again. So come on out bring your lunch and hot dogs Sunday January 23 at 10:00 ' a.m. at the Sheneman Grove club house. Hot coffee will be -furnished. A course race and ^hroom ball is planned. Devotions were given by Mra. Cko Awald. Cake decora cd with pink and blue booties and ice cream were served by the hostess. 4-H NEWS The Lincoln Township Comrades 4-H Club met at the Community Building on January IL with election of officers held with the following boys and girls being elected: president, Loren Capek; girl. Nancy Hiatt; vicepresident boy, Jim Davis; girl, Kathy Kersh; secretary Laune Malstaff; treasurer Melisa Storey; assistant, Drew’ Ross; song leader and recreation. Craig Houser and Denise Groves; news reporter. Mary Freeman; and safety, Vickie Capek. Also plans were made for a 4-H skating party to be held at the Plymouth Skating Palace on Tuesday, February 15. Tickets are 75c and will be held from 7:110 to 10:00 p.m. We need cars to leave JGHS at 6:30 p.m. For tickets see Loren Capek, Nancy Hiatt, Laurie Malstaff or Dawn Pearish. 4-H enrollment wdl] be Feb. 7. A panel was appointed to go to the schools to tell about 4-H. The dress review will be held on March 4 at Jackson High School. Tyner lOOF News Noble Grand Welcome Miller conducted the final meeting of his term of office before being installed as Past Grand of Tyner Lodge of Oddfellows, at the January 12 meeting. One petition for membership was received and a committee appointed. Wednesday evening. January 19, the initiatory degree was given. The family get together pot luck held Sunday, January 9. was a huge success. Over 100 persons attended. The Rebekahs entartairtdd with a style show in the afternoon featuring the comic aspect of modern day living. A skit, “A Shotgun Wedding,” followed, all characters played by the ladies. Taking part were Shirley Zartman, Sally Bottorff, Carol Sarber and Mary Bottorff. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Hughes showed a film on the effect of smoking .n regards to lung cancer and TB. Mrs. Hughes is secretary to the Marshall County TB Association. I have so many even a red headed wood pecker who forgot to migrate. We must feed them or they become prey for cats, hawks and ofcher preditory animals. Every fasmiy sholld have a bird book, so the children can learn. Remember to feed the birds and you will be rewarded with them returning.
