Mrs. Ed Foresman and grandson Danny spent last Thursday with Mrs. Sterling Amm, Mrs. Larry Par.-on^ and Brian of Niles, Michigan called on Mrs Edith Steele last Saturday. Mrs. Avis Whiteh ather and daughter, Claruse of South Bend visaed Mrs. Esther Harman on Saturday. The First Brethren Church Bille Study was cancelled for last Sunday evening. Bible Saidy wiil again bo as usual, Sunday, December 12 at 7 p.ni. Mrs. Lester Borough, South Bend called on Mrs. Carrie Hawblitzel last Thursday. Mrs. Glen Shupert has been released from Memorial hospital and now is at the home of her mother, Mrs. Russell Carr where she is recuperating from recent surgery. Mr. and Mrs. George Roush, Lakeville. Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Rou h and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Roush were recent visitors of Mrs. Lulu Roush and Pearl. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Laidig and Michelle of Indianapolis, and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Fults of Lake of the Woods were Saturday evening supper guest of Mrs. Gertrude Sheneman. Sunday morning beginning at 7:30 p.m. a very unique service
wag held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dola Hocker of North Liberty with about 60 present. This service was a Praise and Supplication Service for the healing of Dola Hocker., who had teen in the hospital for some time and is now home in a hospital bed recuperating. The service began about 7:40 with a prayer by Robert Hocker, their son after which devotions were given by Mrs. Hocker. She choose the 23rd Psalm from which to make her remarks. After this, the radios from different parts of the house were tuned in to M SBT. where the service from the Central United Methodist Church is broadcast each Sunday morning at 8:00 a.m. and the Hockers always listen. The service began as usual, but mention was made of the Hocker family and her favorite hymn was sung with the group joining in from the meeting. ended, juice, coffee and cookies were served. The worship center was graced by a bouquet of flowers in loving memory of a very close friend, Ruth Sheneman. Also a tribute was given to the late Fred DeCoudres., who was one of the pillars of the North Liberty Methodist church. This was one of Mr. DeCoudres’ firm belief-. Honor Thy Father and Thy Mother that Thy Days May Be Long Upon The'Earth. This Mr. DeCoudres attributed to the longevity of his life. The service was very inspiring and all wished Mr. Hocker a very speedy recovery. By coincidence the 23rd Psalm was also used as a basis of the meditation of the radio service. NO. Building Board met Monday night, December 6 with six members present. It was voted •to pay the outstanding loan on the building and to sponsor a bake sale to be held in Fcbru* ary. A television was donated to the building by Dr. W. R. Fetzer. It was placed upstars, to be used by anyone renting the building. The board asks that anyone having any items belonging to the Community Building please reutrn them as soon as possible.
