Falcons Run Over Bremen Saturday Night The John Glenn Falcons caught lire half way through the second quarter last Saturday and from that point on, completely ran away from Bremen in a 92-59 rout of the Lions. A 56 point second half removed any doubt about the outcome as the Falcons rased their season record to 2-1 with the win. Bremen is now 2-2, The game was tight for the f.rst 11 minutes as the Lion* were givi n the Falcons all they wanted. Bremen scored first as Jeff Main hit a rebound lay in. John Harness opened the Glenn jeonng with an 8 footer from the right LaseLne and Bruce Dayhutf hit h.s first two of 37 on a lay in. This gave the Falcons a lead they never lost but the Lions jtayed right w*th them for quite some time. Rch Reese a<ided a free shot but Brad Stine swihed a 20 foot shot. Dayhuff added one point and Charles Schramm tied the score with a 14 footer. Reese tallied from in close and after Roger Dodson hit a free throw Reese hit one and Dayhuff put in a short jumper to pull the Falcons ahead Ly four. A 16 footer by Marty Huber was followed by a free shot by Dayhuff and Bremen pulled with one on another basket by Huber. Joe Jaske then hit a 12 footer and Curt Pletcher added two free shotw. Dayhuff swuhed a 10 footer and the Falcons held an 18-11 lead at the end of the first period. Bremen came back in the next three minutes to let everyone know’ they were still around. This waa the point where th * fortunes changed as the Falcons from here on out dominated the Play. Diyhuff hit a pair of one pointers and after Schramm hit one free shot Dayhuff and Bill 1' laugher hit one ba: ket apiece and Haimss two to open a 10 point gap. From here the teams Hadid points until the half as the Falcons took a 36-27 halt time lead. The second half was ad John Glenn. Reese started it off with a short .‘hot and Dayhuff and Schramm traded free throws. A free shot by Hirne-« was followed by two charity ‘hots and then two baskets by Dayhuff before Dodson hit another single point for Bremen. Reese then hit a Pair from the 15 foot line and Dayhuff scored from the l-ft corner and Flaugher hit a free ’■hot anti basket as the Falcons were roally running and using everyone in this drive. Salvation Army Drive Continues This Saturday The first day of the Walkerton Salvation Anny Kettle Drive in Walkerton was highly successful as a total of $167.44 wus collected. Two more day this Si.uidiy and December 18. will complete the annual drive, the only source of income the local Salvation Army committee has co work with each year. The Lions Club, assist'd by memberof the Jayce s will ring the beds this Saturday. HOLIDAY TOURNEY TICKETS ON SALE MONDAY Season tickets will go on sale Monday for the Winamac Holi day tourney, to be heal Delember 22 and 23. Season tickets are $2.00; single session tickets will be sold at the door for $1.25. John Glenn will play Wina-' mac in the first game at 7:15 EST on Wednesday. December 22. Rossville and Knox will be opponents in the second game. The con.olation and championship games will be played on Thursday, December 23 at 7:15 and 8:30. Chamber To Meet The Walkerton Chamoer of Commerce will meet today, December 9. at Heil’s Restaurant, at 12:00 noon. The organization for 1971 and drawing up of the new constitution and ty-laws will occupy the business meeting. All members and interested persons are urged to attend.
