Carter of the Walket’con Medical Clinic attended the 23rd Annual Scientific Assembly of the American Acadcmj of General Practice in Miami Beach, Florida, last week. Mrs. Carter accompanied h.m. A. J. COM PON TAKES BURNINA TRAINING COURSE A. J. Compton. Koontz Lake returned from a Swigs Burnina sewing machine training course held in Hinsdale, Illinois recently. The course was given by Miss Elsa Brogi from Switzerland and now of Hinsdale where she trains personel for demonstrating the Burnina sewing machines. LOCAL MAN ASSIGNED TO INDIANA Navy Recruiter Station, Fort Wayne, Indiana, October 4-Elec-tricians Mate First Class Donald J. Adams, son of Mrs. Gertrude Adams, Route 8 Walkerton, has been assigned as a Navy Recruiter in Fort Wayne area. Petty Officer Adams enlisted in the Navy at South Bend. Indiana in 1958. He is a veteran of the Matsu-Quemoy Conflict and the Viet Nam Conflict. In addition to the National Defence Metal, Petty Officer Adams holds the Good Conduct Medal (second award!, Vietnam Campaign (seventh award), Vietnamese Service, and the Armed Forces Expiditionary Medals. Petty Officer Adams is mar-
ried to the former Miss Arleeen Smith of Koontz Lake and they have three children, Tamara, 9, Brian, 6. and Terri Ann. 5, They will make their home in New Have, Indiana, KOONTZ LAKE EXTENSION IIOM E MAK EKS ME ET The Koontz Lake Extension Homemakers Club met in the home of Mrs. Joseph Scanlon on the eve of September 27 at 7:30 pm. All members were present and roll call was answered by favorite memory concerning a school teacher New officers for 1972 were elected as following; Esther Scanlon president; Carol Clark, vice president; Vertie Pulliam, secretary; Sandra Cook, treasurer; Cleo Awald, health and safety and Marie Hewitt, reporter.
