Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sims, Sr., 190 Stewart Street, North Liberty, celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary from 2 to 5 p.m. last Sunday at an open house given by their children at the North Liberty First Brethren Church. The couple was married in South Bend on September 10, 1921 and had ten children. ST. JOSEPH CO. Farm Bureau conducted classes on leadership, officer duties and teamwork needed for successful programs. Attending from St. Josieph County were Betty Ann Bauer, Noreen Mester, Rosemary Emery, Jane Powell, Judy Firestone, Janet Hoover. Membership is open to all single young men and women, 18-28, The aims of the club are recreational, educational and community service. ~ mMUMTWg Mrs. Everett Baker entertained the members of her bridge club in her home Tuesday night. Mr. and Mrs. Nwton Williams, Walkerton, had as their house guest this past week, Mrs. Keith Chase, of Hastings, Mich. Mrs. George Ferverda, Koontz Lake, joined them for dinner Saturday evening. Mrs. Jerry Becker, Auburn, Indiana, spent the week end With her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Place, and attended an anniversary party of graduate Technicans of the Elkhart General Hospital. Elkhaift, Saturday evening. Mr. and mis. rierman Henry were in Akron, Ohio over the week end where they attended the wedding of Tom Mackay of Dover, Ohio. They were entertained by Mr. and Mrs. Dave Mackay, parents of the groom. Mrs. Buelah Dollahan, Mrs. Betty Drake, Mrs. Louise Komon, Miss Beth Dollahan took Arthur (Fritz) Beem to Purdue University at Lafayette last Thursday where he is studying Electrical Engineering. Arthur is in his second year of colt gv. He is the son of Buelah Dollahan. The four women touied the University which they enjoyed. The Robert King family, Walkerton, returned recently from a 5200 mile camping vacation to the Grand Canyon, Utah, Wyoming and Colorado. They visited Salt Lake City, the Air Force Academy and several National Parks. They were awed and enjoyed the snow in Arizona, especially the two days spent on a 75,000 acre Dude Ranch near Chugwater, Wyoming. The Kings reported in all these miles they never witnessed a traffic accident.

Monday afternoon Mrs. Mary Bauer and Mrs. Leigh Roy Hahn attended a Church Woman's United meeting at the North Liberty United Methodist church. Mr. and Airs. Eugene Kerchaert and Mr- and Mrs. Baldy Shultz spent the latter part of last week at Washington. Indiana, fishing and vacationing. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Shinn and Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Walz spent the weekend at the Wisconsin Dells. Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Butch) Smith of Bouibon announce the birth of a son, born September 11 in Parkview Hospital, Plymouth. He weighed in at 5 lbs. 15 oz., Mrs. Smith is the former Becky Williams. Mr. and Mrs. Agnew Ludwig returned Sunday from a 10 day camping vacation. They were in Palestine. Illinois from September 3 to September 8 where they attended the Rodvo at Pioneer City Park wheie it is held each year. From there they went to Fort Leonard Wood Missouri and visited their son, Steve who is in service there. Mrs. Chester Griffin and Mrs. George H llis attended the 13th District Council meeting of the Indiana Federation of Clubs at the Horse Palace at Bass Lake on Wedn sday. Mrs. Griffin and Mrs. H.11.s represented the Woman's Community Club at this meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Smith, of Sunrise Beach, Lake of the Ozarks, arriwd Saturday evening for a surprise visit with the latter's sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Skinner and other relativ s and friends. On Monday a dinner was given to celebrate the birthday of Mrs. Skinner. Others piesent were Mr. Skinnr, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Harold Hostetler, Mrs. Robert Barden, Mrs. Leigh Roy Hahn and Mrs. Art Vitou of South Bend.
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wray of Grapevine, Texas are spending two weeks here with his sister, Miss Anna Wray. The Koontz Lake} Conservation Club will not have their pot luck supper this Saturday night because of the Fireman Chicken dinner that evening. The County Line club held their annual picnic Sunday at Stuntz Pine Forrest with a car-ry-in dinner for the families. A white elephant sale and other games provided entertainment lor the afternoon.
