DIXIE WALKERS September 10 and 11 were very big nights in the Square Dance circuit. The annual TriState Dance was held at the A.C.C. on the Notre Dame campus. The Tri - State includes Michigan, Indiana, -and Ohio and there were many happy from all three states. Such a variety of callers that one could dance whatever level of square dancing they enjoy. Our next regular dance is Saturday, September 18. This is our anniversary dance and also we will elect new club officers. TOWN BOARD A proposal to prepare a resolution authorizing final engineering plans for sewage works improvements, plus several ways of financing the payments were tabled by the Walkerton town boa id Tuesday, Sept. 7, at the town hall. A preliminary report prepared by the Clyde E. Williams and Associates, engineering firm of S juth Bend, suggested two possible types of sewage works improvements’. The board must decide which of the two plans is the more feasible and practical before final engineering plans can be prepared. Board members noted concern about alkei ton s low standing in application for federal and a ate grants to assist in the constiaction. Without the grants, the total cost w >u!d be prohibitive for local financing board members said. In other business the board authorized placement of tho town's police radio base station and patrol car radio unit mid t mon.hly service contract agreenj^nt with Motorola Communicationj and Electronics company following a review of that firm’s proposal. A letter of appreciation was read for the boards cooperation during the past season from officals and coaches of Walkerton's junior baseball league.
