HUNTERS AND SEAIIOLMS ENTERTAIN A delightful afternoon for twelve women of the Koontz Lake area was hosted at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Acil Hunter and Mr. and Mrs. Allen Seaholm, Thursday afternoon
September, 2. A cocktail hour was enjoyed on the Hunters patio before moving next door to the Seaholm residence on Koontz Lake, where two round tables on the patio, coveted by huge yellow umbrellas, invited the guests to a two course luncheon. Assisting the hostess was a sister of the women, Mrs. Albert McCloud of Midland, Michigan, who was a house guest. Later in the afternoon cards were enjoyed and every guest was awarded a prize. The Hun-ter-Seaholm couple have recently purchased a pontoon which was tempting to the guests to take
a tour of the Lake, but with such a busy afternoon and the late hour, all took a rain check for a ride before too late. MRS. SLICK ENJOYS , COOK OUT LN FOREST Mr. Bruce Cummings, State Entomologist, who is camping at the Bruce Goffel Camping Grounds, south of Michigan City, while he is inspecting that area of the state, Mrs. Cummngs and daughter Lois are with him at the camp. Bruce convinced Mrs. M. B. Slick, his aunt, that she should accompany him back to camp for a cook out supper. The lake, the many acres of
cover have preserved our wild life. Fish in the lake, a flock of pheasants, many rabbits and birds and there must be deer but we didn't see any. I believe there are 6,000 acres of forest, with a river, river, toilet or bath house. Best of all far from the madding crowds, but a city nearby for convenience. Even back in grandpa’s time there was something to make you sleep. They called it work. The type of man wno robs Peter to pay Paul usually causes both of them to suffer.
