Mr. and Mrs. Earl Leslie were in Chicago Friday and Saturday to visit Mr. Leslie’s sister, Miss Margaret Leslie who is a patient in a Chicago hospital. While there the ladies were guests of their niece, Mrs. Elsie Herring.

Mr. and Mra. Arthur DeMyer spent Saturday and Sunday in Chicago with Mr. and Mrs. Carl Schober. Mrs. Jack Hannagen, RR 1, Walkerton hosted a dinner party at the Holiday Inn, in Plymouth, honoring the birthday of her husband. August 31. Mrs. Hannagens guests: were, Mr. and Mrs-. Russell Lawrence, Koontz Lake, and Mr. and Mrs. Newton Williams, Walkerton. Mrs. Mary Sharpe of Ridgeville and Mrs. Margaret Finkle of Indianapolis returned to their homes after spending several days with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bandendistel. Other Saturday guests of the Bandendistels were, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Bandendistel of LaPorte and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Duffey of Mishawaka.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Anderson and family returned home Friday from a weeks vacation at Elk Rapids, Michigan. Week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Seaholm and Mr. and Mrs. Acil Hunter weie Mr. and Mrs. William Bethuren of Homewood, Illinois, Mr. and Mis. Del Fisher of Chicago, Mts. Arthur Silverthoine, Mrs. Fred Schultz of Lansing, Illinois and Mrs. Albert MacLeod, of Midland, Michigan. Mrs. Emma Ward and Mrs. Kathryn Long will be hostess for the pot luck supper of the Koontz Lake Conservation Club Saturday evening, September 11 with a social hour following the supper. All members invited. The WiUiaon Dicksons of Koontjz Lake entertained the following guests over the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Dickson and family of Niles, Illinois and Mr. Joseph Banky of Chicago. A bridal shower was given on Sunday afternoon at the Chuck Cripe cottage on Fish Like for Miss Janet Messick, a niece of Mrs. Cripe. Miss- Kay Cripe gave the shower with twenty-five, guests attending. Games were played and refreshments of ice cream, cake and coffee was served. Tim Gardner was home over the week end to visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gardner and Terry and other friends and relatives in the area. Weekend visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Asa Clevenger were her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harley Myers of Wausaukee, Wisconsin. They were called here on account of the death of her mother, Mrs. Minerva Archanduealt of Lake of the Woods). Other relatives were Mr. and Mrs. Willard Milner of Bridgton Ind., and Mrs. Arthur Roadh of Rockville, Ind. k Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Ritter of Mansfield, Ohio and Mis. Lulu Ritccr of Tippecanoe were in Walkerton Saturday afternoon visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Leslie. E. Paul Slick, John and Thomas were anne; guesis of Mrs. M. B. Slick recently and Suzanne who had spent a week with her grandmother, Mrs. Slick returned to Fort Wayne with them. Mrs, Mildred Bowman of Fort Wayne, Mrs. Frank Dunn and Mis. Earl Ward were vacationing laet week in Michigan. They were at Elk Rapids, Petoskey, Mackinaw and up to the Locks. Eioute home they stepped at Frankenmuth, Michigan to see the Christmas decorations which the town is so famous for and then on to Battle Creek to visit the Kellogg fastory. The women h id a very enjoyable and interesting trip.
