School Opening At North Liberty Next Tuesday The North Liberty Schools will (pen Tuesday, September 7 with ; n Orientation period that will 1 st for one hour from 8:15 to 9:15. Two new teachers have been fdded to the North Liberty staff. Mrs. Carol Jajakowski will teach Girl's Physical Ed in both high school and elementary and J nnes Bonham will teach Inu istrial Arts, his schedule also includes classes from both the senior and Junior high school. Regular classes will begin on Wednesday, September 8. Hot 1 meh will be served beginning the same day. Teachers are engaged in an Orientation program this week, which began this Monday for : -w teachers, with ail returning - whers reporting Wednesday, September 1. One Car Crash Takes Life Os Sam Bonifacius Samuel O. Bonifacius., 19 route 2, Walkerton, was killed on County Road 101 two miles east of the LaPorte-St. Joseph County, line early Saturday morning in a one-car crash sometime aftermidnight when he lost control of his auto which was traveling at a high rate of speed. The cur was a 1970 Chevrolet Nova which skidded 211 feet before leaving the road and striking a tree in a wooded .section alongside the roadway. After striking the tree, the car rolled over throwing the teenager from the car. The Deputy Coroner, Dr. Edward Shelley, pronounced the youth dead at the scene. He said the boy had died of compound fractures of the skull and multiple frac.ures of the body. The accident was discovered by a motorist on his way to work at 6:30 a.m. Saturday. Bonifacius was employed by Pine Crenk Lumber Company. He was born on April 4. 1952 in South Bend and had been a lifelong resident of the Walkerton area. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bonifacius of Walkerton; his maternal grandmother. Mrs. Gladys Tener, Walkerton; his step grandfather. Ora Gaut North Liberty; two brothers. Robert of Mantecea, California and Donald of Bremen; and a sister, Mrs. Rex (Sandra) Saill of Walkerton. Services were held at 2:00 p. m. Tuesday in the United Methodist Church, Walkerton, with Rev. Clyde Wake officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton. □ - —D OBITU A R 1 E S □ 0 Willard i’orier I Ince Willard Porter Place. 61, 1210 Eighth Ave., Irwin. Pennsylvania, died in Jeannette District Memorial Hospital on Mondiy evening, August 23. The coroner’s office listed the dea h as a traffic fatality. Place and William J. Stutzman. 31, Irwin, were involved in a collision on July 27 at 6:36 p.m. on Paintertown Road north of Reed St., one-fourth mile north of Irwin. Place was treated at Jeanette District Memorial Hospital and released. The next day he was admitted and undertwent surgery. The coroner’s! office said death was caused by a blood clot, which was induced by shock or injury. Place had had a history of a heart condition. He was president and board chairman of Porter Place Associates Inc., which he founded two years ago. The firm marketed a device to prevent collisions of traveling overhead cranes and other equipment. Place was born on November 7, 1906 in Walkerton, Indiana, a son of the late Willard and Claire Ellsworth Pkace. Surviving are his wife, Leona J. Gustafson Place, whom he married June 6, 1928; a daughter. Mrs. Gregory (Joani Liprando, Irwin; four grandthildren; three brothers. Ellsworth, Pueblo, Colo.; Wilbur, MiPorte. Ind.; Elbert, Walkerton, Ind.; one sister. Mrs. Claire Geyer, Indianapolis, Ind. Services were held in the Vincent V. Rodgers Funeral Home. Irwin, on Thursday at 3 p.m. with Rev. He will be remembered by his old friends of Walkerton. He was a brother-in-law of Mrs. Guy Mu<.chler. Mrs. Steven Biases Mrs. Anna K. Biases, 59, of 25800 Riley Rd.. North Liberty, died unexpectedly at 11:40 p.m. Monday in her residence. She was born March 17, 1912 in Hungary, and lived in St. Joseph County most! of her lifetime. On May 10, 1942, in South Bend, she was married to S.even G. Biasics. who survives, along with her father, Joseph Komves of South Bend; a daughter, Mrs. Carl Christiansen of Walkerton, two grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Theresa Sipotz of Walkerton and Mrs. Mary Baele of South Bend | Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today (Thursday) in Sacred Heart Church, U.S. 31, with Rev. Anthony Molnar, pastor. officiating. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery. Harden Memoral Ch ipel, Lakeville was in charge of arrangements.

North Judson Only Team To Score In Jamboree The North Judson Blue Jaya were the only team to score in the New Prairie Jamboree held on Friday evening. The North Judson squad scored with 4:44 left on the clock in the fourth quarter against the John Glenn Falcons to make it 7-0. Craig Brown hit Eldon Jack, son for a 38 yard .-core and Jim Mutzak booted the extra point to comple e the scoring.
