First Brethren Church Kent Bennett, rastor Morning Worship. 9:3U a.m. Sunday School, 10:30 a.m. BRETHREN CONFERENCE IN SESSION The Eighty-Third General Con. ference ox the Brethren Church will be held August 16-22 at Ashland Ohio with Spencer Gentle serving as Moderator and Donald Rowser serving as Mod-erator-Elect. This year’s theme will be "First Things! First.” The Brethren will be gathering to consider such issuer as Abortion, Believers’ Baptism, World Relief and Evangelism. Numerous woikshops and discussion groups will be held throughout this week. A workshop on Church Growth will be conducted by Dr. Hollis Green. Dr. Paul Fry ling and Dr f Everett H. Graffam will serve as Resource Leaders as the Brethren consider practical ways of aiding the starving of the world. The weekend will be highlighted by the appearance of Dr. Paul Rees, Vice - President of World Vision International. The - PMbllc will be invited to participate In these meetings and activities. The prevailing specifications of the County of St. Joseph. formed musical group of fair men and a girl from Baptist Bible College of Pennsylvania will be presenting a program of hymns uad go.-pel music at The bust Baptist Chur h of North Liberty on Sunday morning, Augu.-t 22 at, at 10:30 a.m. to which the public is cordially invited. The group includes Nancy Wheeling, a .special student from Wauseon, Ohio, who is an outstanding pianist and accompanist for the quartet. M.ss Wheeling s ability at the keyboard has been recognized by several local and national awards. She is a class leader and member of the college a cappella choir. The quartet is made up of Ken Rudolph, a junior from Akron, N. Y., and the bass, Tom Hill, a junior from Johnson City. N. Y. a tenor, John Greening, a junior student from Philadelphia, Pa, baritone, and Bill Mattox, a soph more from Marathon, N. Y. who sings second tenor. All four men are preparing for the ministry.
