Mrs. J. C. Milner, Walkerton Called on Mrs. Carrie Hawbhtzel Saturday evening. Mrs. Mable Sheneman of Lebanon, Ohio and Mrs. Blanche Franson of Walkerton were Tuesday guests for dinner of Alt?. Carson Hostetler. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Reed and Mrs. Adell Medine of Fort Wayne were week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Snyder, Mrs. Orville Peterson returned home recently from Dewitt and Lansing, Mich., where she viaited her brother Lee Harris and family and her sister and brother in law, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Thomas. Word has been received here Os the death of Mrs. C. D. Crabill in Marion. Some years ago she with her husband, Rev. C. D. Crabill served the Beaver Creek and the former Star churches as pastor. Rev. Crabill is retired. Funeral services were held in •the Home Corner Church in Mar don on Monday. SPORTS NEWS The J<-hn Glenn Falcon.- advanced to the semifinal r end of the Marshall County T >unu y with a 5 0 win over the Triton oquad on Tuesday, July 20 The Falcon pitcher. John Harness got a th rec-hit pitching perforin ance from this sophmore. The losing pitcher for Triton was Rudy Gingle. Dick Reese paced the Falcon attack with a pair of hi‘s. Glenn scored twice in the first inning and had more than enough to win but added insurance runs in the third and fifth inmng?. The victory upped the Falcon record to 27-14. The Falcons faced Argos Drag ons on Saturday. The Falcons started the blasting with a 10-1 win over the Drayon?. This ad vanced them into the finals against Plymouth held on Monday evening. The Glenn team scored twice without a hit in the second as the Dragons commited two of their game total of eight error? and the Argos pitcher walked two Falcons. The Falcons built their lead to 5-0 into the fifth then pushed four more across to be on the verge of bringing a quick end to the game but John Verkier, trying to score from second on Carl Williams single to right, was cut down on a fine throw from the catcher to Steve Jen nings. The game then went the full seven innings. John Harness worked the first four innings striking out 5, walking three and not giving up a hit to gain the triumhp.
