After more charity shots had raised the score to 10-5, Mike Baud finally got the hd off the Cavalier basket with their first field goal on a lay in after 5:36 nad passed Dayhuff followed this with a lay in. but Steve Reinaolt hit two five throws and Larry Peters two baskets in the final two minutes of the quarter to give the Cavaliers a 13-12 lead after one per.od P.ay had been loose and the shooting poor by both teams in the fust pend, but that was only a sample of what was to come The second period was about the wildest eight minutes of action anyone could hope to see with bad passes, loose play and an occasionai score by both teams. The Falcons did manage to move to a slight lead and held the s.ngle point margin. 23-22 at ha.ftime. The smoothness of pray did not imprve much in the second half but the scoring did. There wis no extended streaks of neither t< am scoring in this action filled half as there had been in the first 16 minutes. A good share of the scoring was free throws but at least it was scoring. After the two lay ins by Culver and one by G.enn to starte the second period. Mike Bauer and Mike Stephens each hit a pa.r of free throws to open a 30-25 margin. Dayhuff hit a single marker but a 19 looter by Peters and then a driv.ng layup and foul on Peters behalf opened the Cavalier lead to nine, 35-26. and it looked like the Cavaliers had really taken charge. The Falcons weren't done and promptly put into use the one critical defense of Culver this season, the full court press. As in past games utter confusion ivigned as the Cavaliers were not getting the ball dowm the floor at all against the press. Only turnovers and missed shots by the Falcons allowed Culver to get in the offensive court when they did as everytime the Falcons had the opportunity to press after a s« ore trouble reigned for Culver Th.s enabled Glenn to creep back from tire nine point deficit and five points by Dayhuff in the final 35 seconds of jx'hod number three, cut the lead to 46-44 with the crucial fourth quarter remaining. The Cavaliers once more got four fast points to start a stanza as Rich Ruhnow hit first from 19 foot and then added two free

Peters upped this leaa to four with a 22 footer and with 1:28 to play, another pair of free shots by Steve Reinholt dampened the Falcon cha-nces as the score was 64-58. Dayhuff tipped in a missed Falcon shot and after another bad pass on the press Bottorff scored unbothered from under to make it 64-62 with 50 seconds to play. Some real wild acton followed and Culver miss«>d their chance at an easy lay in with
12 seconds to play as a pressing Glenn defense following an error gave the Cavaliers a three on one fast break.
