License Branch Lists Tables On New Tax New location of the Walker* ton license branch is 712 Roose^ Velt Road Walkerton. Indiana. One dollar fee for reserving your old license plate number is due by December 18 1970. All low number plates reserved now, must have the excise tax paid at the time the plate number comes up in the license branch, although your registration month may not be till June. AJI of these numbers are available the Ist part of January 1971 'Personal checks will not be taken, unless you have verified It with the license branch prior to buying your plates. We recommend po money ordeis or certified checks. You should receive your registration from the state before your registration month This will have the tax information on it providing you have not traded cars in the last year. Read over to bo sure it is correct If it is you can mail to the license branch along with your personal check in the amount of plate fees $12.50: tax fee plus 50c: plus mailing fees of 75c. If in doubt you can call the auto license branch of the correct amount. All semi tractor plates will tie available in the branches now, in the past they were ordered direct from special sales Credit on tax — If your car is sold after you licensed it and paid your excise tax. you will sign and haw registration nota, rized on the back as of the date it is sold. Then if you purchase another car at a later month in the year you will receive your tax credit. It must be notarized on the back to receive credit due Veterans and widows will get a credit due certificate from the County Auditor, which will be surrendered to the license branch, ch. United Telephone Company To Raise Rates J C C.uen, president of United Telephone Company of Indi ana Inc. today announced the approval by the Public Service Commission of Indiana of increased rates on long distance calls within Indiana. The higher rates are the roresult oi a request uy inuiaua Bell Telephone Company and all intervening Independent (nonBelh telephone companies to the i umrmssiun lor additional reven eus to offset increased operating co ts United of Indiana and other non-Beh compmies supported the request for higher rates. The , rates effect all telephone com pames operating the state since alll long distance facilities are inter- connected.
