'KOONTZLAKERS" am a proud people - be we just weekenders or permanent residents. We ate proud of the lake and the lake area - proud of our neighbors and their accomplishments and we want others to feel the same way about us Recently, when the lake was lowered under the auspices of the conservation program, every body with lake frontage was very busy indeed cleaning out the rubbish from the edge of the lake as far out as was safe for any individual to be NOW less than three weeks later, I have a new supply of empty coke and V^er bottles and tins in the lake - and shot gun shells strewn on the sea wall and lawn. I am not trying to insinuate that no one shall shoot from our front yards or lawns This is a hectic era for most folks - a period of rugged daily pressures and so to help keep your sanity we all should have a hobby. If fowl shooting happens to be yours -a l well and good. I do think it is only fair that I speak up and ask that you carry the empty drink cans and bottles home with you - and that you gather up the empty shells so no one will be maimed next spring when the power mowers will aga.n have to do their thing. Do have a pleasant holiday season - my wish for you all. Sincerely "Koontz laker". M C B. pollution. The Town has no existing M’weis Underground piping now being us» d as sewers are actua ly storm water dra.ns The Board is. and has been work ing towuds i pi or ram to correct the situation When the Town with the assistance of Fedeial a.d should install sewers under the mandate of the Board of Health, and thc propo.-cd annexed area is not m< uidcd these property owners will pay a lot more later on than they will, if they are included now. Some of the negative voices hive complained that the farm of one of the Board members was excluded from the annexation The fact is that the pro posed annexation does not extend up to this section. But if this land was not used .is farm land and more houses built on it. request would be made that it be included in the annexation nt this time. However, all 5 members of the Town Board reside in and pay taxes in the Town of Walkerton Common sense indicates that every business must be located where there m a need for it and the business maa can make a living from his service or product. Walkerton has grown and improved in the lust 20 years and it must continue to grow, which requires the help and par tlcipation of all of the people of the Waikerton Community work.ng together. The following is a list ol some of the things that have happened to Walkerton in the past few years to help it grow: 1. New post office ouilding 2 Complete new water plant and water tower 3.
