Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Dunnck of South Bend spent Sunday with her sister, Mrs. Frank Dunn. Mrs. Bertha Urbin visited in Kewanna on Sunday seeing rel atives and friends. She was a dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. Al Yerkes. Mrs. W. V. Valentine, of Indianapolis, returned to her home Sunday evening after spending the week end with her mother, Mrs. Alice Barney. On Sunday they were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Holland in South Bend. Sunday evening. Mrs. Barney and Mrs. Holland attended the seasons opening of the South Bend Symphony Concert held in the Morris Civic Auditorium. Mrs Holland plays violin in the symphony. Craig DeMyer, son ot Mr. and Mrs. Arthur DeMyer, 111 Clark St, Walkerton, was recognized for scholastic achievement at the innual Honors Day convocation in Ransburg Auditorium. October 23 at Indiana Central College. To be able to be listed a student had to of completed at least 24 semester credit hours with an icademic index of 9 points or better during both semesters of 1969-70. Twenty-one of the students were freshmen who were elected by the faculty to mem. bership in Phi Alpha Epsilon, freshman honor society. Miss Sherri Bradford, of Silver Lake, visited last week with her grandmother, Mrs. Fern Grote. Mr. and Mrs Ernest Roth, of Scottsburg, Indiana, were week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Dixon. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur DeMyer were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Geald Ross of Lakeville. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Worts of North Manchester were aiso guests. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Durst and son Mark, Mrs. Jacob Durst of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Epperson and family of Gary, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Kaufman, David and Shelly, Douglas Arney of Fish Like and Arthur Zigler were Sunday evening dinner guests of Mrs Gerald Kaufman. The occasion was honoring tiie birthday of Mrs. Epperson There will not be a pot luck supper at the Koontz Like Con servation Club this Saturday night due to the Halloween celebrations. Mrs. Leonard Beaty and Mis. Stella Campbell returned to Walkerton Mond iv evening after spending a week in Ohio looking after the farm interest of Mrs. Campbell. While there, they were saddened by the unexpected death of Mr. Homer Hawkins, the husband of Mrs. Campbell’s daughter, Elinore. and a sister of Mrs. Beaty. Mr. Beaty. Mrs. Edgar Cole and sons Robert and Richard, went to Ohio for the week end to attend the funeral of Mr Hawkins in Bellefontaine on Sunday.

Mrs. Faye Jones and Betty were recent visitors of Mr. find Mis. John Solmos and Pat, in Logansport. Mrs. Donald McGrath and daughters, Lisa. Linda and Laurie and Miss V.cki Bullinger, of Ft. Wayne, spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bullnger and Fred Jr. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gardner were in Bloomington over the week end to attend the annual Homecoming football game at Indiana University where their son T,m is a senior. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Grimm of New Castle were guests several days last week of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Brown. Mrs. Pearl Dearduroff of Indianapolis was also a guest last week and she and Mrs. Brown spent a couple of days in Morocco visiting relatives and friends. Mrs. George Hillis has returned from a two week trip to Pennsylvania and New Jersey, where she was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. L Dangremond of North Wales, Pa Mrs. Dangremond accompanied Mrs. Hillis to Bucks County and New Hope, Pa. and Flemington, N J., and to Mrs. Hillis’ former home in New Jersey. Mr. and Mrs. William Ross, of Mesa. Arizona, returned to thwr home Monday after being called here by the death of Mr. Ross's brother in-law, Mr. E. M Bregi, of Koontz Lake. Trie Ross' were former residents of Koontz Like. Diana Dili, a senior at Indiana University, was home over the week end to visit with her parents Mr and Mis. Denslow Doll and Scott. Diana is doing her student teaching this year
