FROM WALKERTON INDIANA TO ONTARIO By Retta Wbiianis A week-end to be remembered by 23 Wa kerton residents just happened the past week-end in Wa kerton, Ontario, Canada. N.neteen members of Walkerton (Ind > F4AM Lodge No. 619 motored to Walkerton, Ontario to be guests of the Saugeen E&AM Lodge No 197. Saturday evening, Oct. 10. The Walkerton (local) lodge exemplified the Master M ison Degree for the pleasure of the host lodge. Officers and mend vrs maikmg the trip were, Wushipful Master Ernie Morris, Cai. Shores. As the Indiana guests arrived in Wilke? ton. Ontario Saturday astern >on they were met by Mr. Charles Harris. who was in < harg ■ of ail arrangements. As each car arrived at intervals dir ng the afternoon each recieved the same warm welcome from Mr. Harris shown about the town and assigned to their motel. it appeared that the shop keepers had been clued as to our visit and we were made so very welcome. At r.x o’clock the Indiana group nut at the Hart ey Hotel in downtown Walkerton. The men were hosted by a large group of Masonic brothers to a bountiful smorgasbord dinner in the large banquet room. We four Indi ina ladies were met by Mrs. Harris and Mrs. Fred Adel, wde of the Master of Ceremonies of the Saugeen Lodge, who were our hostesses for a delightful dinner in the hotel dining room. We then were gven a tour of intere ding p aces before retiring to the home of Mrs. Adel and were jo.ned by more ladies where we swapped customs, answered quistions about the I S A md found ourselves equally curious of thenlaws, customs and etc. Late?- in the evening we women went to the beautiful golf and country club to await the men following their meeting. More wives arrived to join in the friendly chatter, refreshments and complimerits from both the guests and hosts bringing the warmest glow, on v found in new formed fri ndsh ps Every visitor enjoved the Cub House and especially found the Cur ing arena, enclosed in the building, interesting. Curling is a most popular sport of that country. A/ a late hour the visitors said goodnight to their hosts and returned to our motels to rest a bit before starting on the almost 500 miles home Sun-
